The main actors of SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X" shared their characters and behind-the-scenes stories. Scheduled to premiere on October 9 at 9:50 PM, this drama depicts a refreshing medical noir about "Gye Su-jeong," the "madhouse genius of the operating room" Doctor X, who breaks through injustices with genius surgical skills.

Kim Ji-won "Overwhelming effort hidden behind genius, implemented with a low voice"

Actor Kim Ji-won, who plays the role of "Gye Su-jeong," a character with overwhelming medical skills, revealed the effort she put in to gain the character's professionalism. Kim Ji-won said she received help from medical experts and continuously practiced motions such as Suture during surgery for filming. She also completed her preparations by memorizing difficult medical terms until just before filming. In particular, she mentioned receiving help from the drama staff, noting that they studied even more than she did for the surgery scenes.

Regarding the character's voice tone, she explained, "Gye Su-jeong is not socially adept, and is a character who reacts by not reacting." Kim Ji-won added that she acted using a lower and deeper voice than usual to give the feeling that the character is trapped in her own world. Furthermore, she stated that rather than defining Gye Su-jeong simply as a genius, she chose the role because she was attracted to the fact that she is "an incredibly hardworking person with that level of effort and concentration." She also shared that during filming, there were moments when she had to cover her microphone to suppress laughter due to the charm of senior actor Kim Yeong-min's character.

Lee Jung-eun "A medical drama of intense red color, the unexpected charm of the character"

Actor Lee Jung-eun, who plays the role of Jang Hui, defined the color of the work as 'red.' Lee Jung-eun predicted, "As the poster color is red, it will be a very intense medical drama." In the drama, Jang Hui is a multi-dimensional character who appears sensitive to money and sharp on the surface but reveals sharp instincts in an instant. Lee Jung-eun said, "I had many discussions with the director to balance this." Additionally, she expressed expectation that the image of a doctor overcoming challenges through pure medical skill and true ability, rather than status or power, will provide refreshing moments to viewers.

Regarding her fellow cast members, Lee Jung-eun shared her thoughts, saying, "I thought both Kim Ji-won and Kim Woo-seok would be introverted, but after actually working with them, they were playful, very sociable, and kind people."

Kim Woo-seok "An intern whose feet move before words, admiring Kim Ji-won's charisma"

Actor Kim Woo-seok, who plays the role of Park Tae-gyeong, a growing doctor with bright energy, described the character's charm as "someone who makes mistakes and is a bit slow, but is lovable." Mentioning the chemistry with Gye Su-jeong in the drama, Kim Woo-seok said he thought she was "really cool" during the scene where Kim Ji-won delivers the line, "Do you want to die within a month, or do you want to die within a hundred years?" He rated his chemistry with Gye Su-jeong at 70% and mentioned that he is similar to his character in that he shows a bright side once he becomes close to someone.

Regarding the changes that occurred while playing a doctor, Kim Woo-seok said, "Since I didn't think of myself as a doctor, due to the character's traits, there were many scenes where my feet moved before my words." He added, "Since the intern character in the drama often says 'I understand' and 'I'm sorry,' I think I have become able to say sorry more naturally and comfortably in my daily life as well." Finally, Kim Woo-seok mentioned the scene where Jang Hui appears in front of the hospital driving a car, stating he was attracted to the character's cool appearance.
