Actor Ji Sung transforms into a former gang boss to seize a massive sum of money hidden in an apartment.

At the production presentation for JTBC's new weekend drama 'Apartment,' held via online broadcast on the afternoon of the 10th, Director Cho Yong-won and actors Ji Sung, Ha Yoon-kyung, Park Byung-eun, and Moon So-ri were in attendance.

Ji Sung plays Park Hae-kang, a former boss of the legendary 'Oasis Gang' who boasts a 0% delinquency rate. Desperate for 10 billion won in capital to save Yong-gu, a father figure to him, he takes the radical step of running for the chairperson of the apartment's residents' representative council to get his hands on the money.

Regarding his reason for choosing this project, Ji Sung stated, "The setting of a story unfolding in a large-scale apartment complex felt fresh." He continued, "Even though it's a realistic story that could happen to anyone, it was intriguing. It wasn't a heavy crime drama, but rather had a delightful and cathartic atmosphere, and the setting of forming a fake family to pull off a scam felt particularly attractive."

A boss running for chairperson, and characters full of personality

'Apartment' is a life-oriented human drama that depicts the process of Park Hae-kang, who runs for the chairperson of the residents' representative council to seize hidden money within the apartment, getting entangled with residents and rooting out apartment corruption.

Director Cho Yong-won explained, "We playfully depicted the process where Park Hae-kang, a former Oasis Gang boss, runs for the chairperson election to steal 10 billion won, but ends up saving the apartment in the process." Cho added, "It is an attractive work where everyday episodes of the apartment and the characters harmonize, telling a story of people who both conflict and unite."

The supporting cast is also impressive. Ha Yoon-kyung plays Kang Ha-ri, a long-term student who repeatedly fails the bar exam and works part-time at a free legal counseling window at We Partners. Park Byung-eun plays Lee Chung-won, a construction company CEO living in a penthouse. Moon So-ri transforms into Jang Sook-jin, an information broker who is so well-informed about neighborhood rumors that 24 hours a day isn't enough.
