In the video, Ji Chang-wook explained that Jo Won is a character with complex emotions, going beyond simply loving his sister, but involving a mixture of betrayal, inferiority, obsession, and love-hate. He particularly noted the point where Jo Won transforms into a 'lover' later on.

Ji Chang-wook said, "Jo Won's emotions feel different from typical sorrowful love," adding, "Jo Won later feels self-loathing for being unable to escape from her (Madam Cho) despite wanting to." He further pointed out the cause of the character's change, stating, "Since that love was his entire life, the sense of loss regarding the unfulfilled love seems to have been great enough to change a person's life."

An explanation of the relationship between Jo Won and Hui-yeon also followed. Ji Chang-wook mentioned that the two are cousins who met while running errands for adults during their childhood, explaining that they became a relationship where they shared their inner thoughts as literary friends. He added that Hui-yeon, as an awakened woman who sees the world broadly, was the only person to whom Jo Won could show his talent.
