Music critic Lim Jin-mo shared his grief in a TV CHOSUN STAR video, marking one year since his son passed away in August following a battle with a brain tumor. Lim, who worked alongside his son for five months, expressed his determination to live his son's life while still holding onto his late son's belongings.

Music critic Lim Jin-mo has shared the pain of a father facing the grief and lingering traces left behind after the passing of his son. In a video released by TV CHOSUN STAR, Lim spoke calmly yet painfully about his feelings now that one year has passed since his son's death.

"Traces that cannot be discarded"... A father guarding his son's belongings

Lim Jin-mo has been unable to clear away the items his son used during his lifetime. Traces of daily life, such as his son's desk and the shoes he wore, remain by his side. He even wears the shoes his son liked, showing an effort to keep his son's presence physically near him.

Following advice from those around him to burn the belongings, Lim found the task difficult. He revealed that he has not been able to throw away a single item of his son's, and he did not hide the sorrow that rushes in when facing these traces. In particular, he expressed heartache while looking at graduation photos taken when his son's condition had briefly improved, recalling the desperate hope he once held for a full recovery.

"My son was my greatest fan"... Dreaming of a path as a manager together

The relationship between the two went beyond a simple father-son bond, as they dreamed of being musical companions. Lim recalled that his son was deeply interested in clothing and styling, and had even volunteered to act as a manager to assist with his father's work. In fact, the son supported Lim's activities by working alongside him for approximately five months.

Lim defined his son as "the best person in the world" and "my greatest fan." He mentioned that his son was such a close assistant that he would even critique or advise Lim on his bowtie style, adding that if his son had been healthy, they would have worked together as manager and critic.

"A point where my life's 'My Way' is not yet decided"

Expressing regret toward his son, who passed away in the early morning this past August after a battle with a brain tumor, Lim described himself as "a father who could not even protect his son." The pain was deep for a father who had to witness the difficult struggle of the illness, including the decline of his son's kidney function as the condition worsened. Rather than claiming to have overcome the grief, Lim said he is gradually recovering his life's trajectory thanks to the support of his family.

The void left by his son has brought a significant change to the direction of Lim's life. He confessed that, for the first time in his life, he stands at a point where his own "My Way" has not yet been determined. Regarding his future, Lim expressed his determination to "do my best to live my son's life," conveying his intent to carry on the weight of the life his son left behind.
