Jung Hae-in, Ha Young, Heo Sung-tae, Netflix 'This F***ing Love'

The Netflix series 'This F***ing Love' has released character stills of its protagonists ahead of its upcoming release. Scheduled for a worldwide release on August 7, this 12-episode romantic comedy depicts the cohabitation of Go Eun-sae (played by Ha Young), an elite prosecutor who has lost her memory, and her self-proclaimed boyfriend, boxing coach Jang Tae-ha (played by Jung Hae-in).

In the released photos, Jung Hae-in portrays contrasting atmospheres as Jang Tae-ha. His bright smile at the boxing gym reveals the side of a naive coach, while his appearance in a black suit hints at his twist identity as a division head of an organization. Jang Tae-ha is a character with a pure, devoted love, striving to protect the person he loves in any situation.

Regarding the character, Jung Hae-in defined him as "the epitome of a man with pure love who protects his loved one in any situation, and a character with clumsy, unexpected charm." He continued, "I tried to naturally express the differences in emotions and attitudes felt in each situation, from a hungry boxer to an organization's division head," adding that he focused on bringing out the details of the conflicts he faces while struggling to protect Go Eun-sae after reuniting with her.

Ha Young transforms from Go Ji-won, an elite prosecutor on the fast track to success, into Go Eun-sae, who suffers from amnesia overnight. The stills alternate between Eun-sae waking up in an unfamiliar rural hospital and her past as a cold-blooded prosecutor. Ha Young explained, "Go Ji-won, who rushed forward without hesitation to achieve what she wanted, loses her memory and returns to her true self, detached from the circumstances that once surrounded her." She added, "In that process, seeing her grow while receiving love from Jang Tae-ha and those around her felt endearing and made me want to root for her."

Heo Sung-tae takes on the role of the villain who will control the tension of the drama. He plays Baek Sang-gil, a boss living while laundering his identity and hiding traces of his organization. Upon learning that prosecutor Go Ji-won, who holds his weakness, is still alive, Baek Sang-gil begins to hunt her down. Heo Sung-tae said, "Baek Sang-gil is a role that heightens the tension of the drama just by appearing," and noted, "I contemplated how to manage the temperature difference between his outward appearance in social relationships and his true self. I worked to maintain a relaxed attitude while dryly and cruelly maximizing his essential wickedness."

Director Kim Jang-han emphasized the synergy between the actors. Director Kim evaluated, "Jung Hae-in, who moves between rom-com and action, Ha Young, who interpret a potentially hateful character lovably, and Heo Sung-tae, who embodies a multi-dimensional villain, have created perfect synergy." 'This F***ing Love', featuring Ha Young, who recorded 31 million cumulative views on Netflix with her previous work 'Trauma Center', and Heo Sung-tae, who achieved No. 1 in 93 countries with 'Squid Game', will be released on Netflix on August 7.
