Singer Jung Eun-ji is returning with new music filled with the colors of summer. Her agency, Billions, kicked off the official comeback countdown on the 7th by releasing a highlight medley video for her fifth mini-album, 'Summer, I,' via its official social media channels.
The newly released video is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the album's flow. A total of seven tracks—led by the title track 'Wave (i love LOVE)' and followed by 'NO FIGHT,' 'Linguine,' 'Following the Wind,' 'It Feels Like We'll Never Meet Again,' 'Romantic Party,' and 'Where Love Has Passed'—are showcased in short segments, revealing the album's outline. Previously, Jung Eun-ji had been building anticipation by sequentially releasing track teasers for each song from the 31st of last month to the 6th of this month.
The title track, inspired by the question, "What kind of person is my love?"
Jung Eun-ji took a central role in the title track 'Wave (i love LOVE)' by participating in both songwriting and composition. The song was born from her own self-reflection: "What kind of person is my love?" It captures a perspective of looking back on moments when love resided, weaving a message into the lyrics and melody to cherish music, the world, and oneself just one day more. Notably, guitarist Jukjae participated in the performance, further elevating the song's musical sophistication.
Jung Eun-ji's influence also extends to the overall production of the album. She played a leading role in setting the direction and message for the entire project, including her original compositions. Top-tier domestic musicians, including 10CM, Jukjae, and So Soo-bin, joined the project, adding unique colors to each track. The songs share a narrative that spans from the flutter of falling in love to the emotions following a breakup, structured as if one person's love story flows along with the changing seasons.
Solo concert to be held at Seoul 1975 Theater in September
The highlight medley video employs a visual style where the screen composition changes according to the mood of each song. Scenes capturing refreshing summer landscapes and various moments of love are interspersed to match the musical flow. This allows listeners to visually anticipate the emotional spectrum contained within the album 'Summer, I.'
Jung Eun-ji's fifth mini-album 'Summer, I' will be released on various online music platforms on the 11th at 6 PM. Following the release, she is also preparing stages to meet her fans in person. Jung Eun-ji is set to continue the summer heat by holding her solo concert 'SUMMER, I' at the Seoul 1975 Theater on September 12th at 6 PM and September 13th at 4 PM.
