The life of a daughter-in-law with hobbies that contrast with the traditional image of a clan (Jongga) has been revealed. Lee Chan-sol, the 22nd daughter-in-law of the Yanggyeonggong branch, recently shared through a broadcast her unusual side, such as enjoying off-road driving and scuba diving, and the weight of life she faces while continuing her life in the clan house.

"A connection made after two blind dates"... The first meeting with her 'tofu-faced' husband

Lee Chan-sol recalled that meeting her husband was by no means easy. According to the subtitles in the video and the participant's remarks, the two had their first blind date at a tea house in front of a station back in the days before mobile phones existed. There was an episode where they confused the meeting place, causing Lee to wait alone for an hour. She also shared an anecdote from that time when she went out dressed up in bare legs, but her father had sent her off wearing clothes like a Vietnamese skirt with a red string tied around her waist and a borrowed cardigan. She also made a candid confession that she did not like her husband's face at first impression because it was 'tofu-faced'.

However, the connection led to a second blind date. Following the funeral of her maternal grandfather, a second meeting was arranged at the suggestion of the elders from both families. During the second meeting, the husband arrived more than two hours late due to traffic congestion on the way up from Busan. At that time, Lee revealed that her heart was moved by the appearance of her mother-in-law. In the video, Lee explained that she solidified her decision to marry because of the confident appearance of her mother-in-law, who, while wearing a traditional braided hairstyle (jjok), took a cigarette out of her handbag to smoke and said, "I like the bride."

Time stopped after cardiac arrest, "Like caring for a three-year-old"

Their happy married life faced a sudden ordeal. Lee shared the situation when her husband collapsed due to cardiac arrest in October 2021. At the time, the situation was so critical that the husband was found in a state of death, but fortunately, his heart returned. However, due to brain damage caused during the cardiac arrest process, the husband is currently in a state where he only remembers the present daily life.

Lee described her husband's condition as "being like caring for a three-year-old child." She shared that he cannot remember who he met, or that it is a situation where she must stay by his side every moment because he has difficulty handling meals and excretion by himself. Lee is continuing to provide devoted nursing care, such as intentionally speaking to him in a high-pitched voice so that her husband can remember her.

The weight of life shared on a bike... Off-road becomes a breakthrough for rehabilitation

The method Lee chose for her husband's rehabilitation was 'bikes', which was her own hobby. For her husband, whose movement is uncomfortable and outdoor activities are limited, Lee chose to take him on the back seat of a bike to go out and get some fresh air. This is both a breakthrough for her husband's rehabilitation and outdoor activities, and a way to enjoy her own hobby together.

Lee mentioned the way her husband adjusts his body from behind when riding up a mountain pass, saying, "I like it because we share the heavy bike, this heavy weight of life, together." Amidst the hard daily life of performing major ancestral rites (Daeje) nearly ten times a year as a clan house and other duties, the bike riding with her husband is read as a time to confirm the special bond between the two.
