Singer Ben shared her sincere feelings regarding the depression she experienced in the past and the daughter who helped her overcome it.

According to a broadcast video from TV CHOSUN JOY, singer Ben calmly revealed the psychological pain she experienced around six months after giving birth and the background behind her decision to divorce. Through the conversation in the video, Ben explained that she made the difficult decision based on the judgment that she could not raise her child within a complete family at that time.

"A choice made for the child, and for myself"

Regarding her feelings at the time, Ben said, "I had to take responsibility for the child, and I thought that in order to take responsibility for the child, my mind had to be sound and I had to be happy and whole to be able to care for the child." She added that because the image of a family she had envisioned was different from the actual situation, she made that choice for both the child and her own life.

In particular, Ben mentioned the depth of the depression she experienced at the time, expressing her difficult state by saying, "At that time, I just wasn't there. I thought I wouldn't be able to return to my place." Although she believed herself to be strong throughout her 14 years of activity, she confessed that she went through such a hard time that she wanted to give up everything.

What pulled Ben up during her psychological crisis was her daughter Ria. Ben said, "I think the baby saved me," noting that seeing Ria allowed her to pull herself together with the mindset that she had to find strength again. Reflecting on how the choice she made for the child was ultimately a process to make herself happy, she shared that she has now overcome those hard times and is leading a happy daily life.

In the video, Ben's daily life was filled with spaces for her daughter. A home environment centered around her daughter was revealed, including a living room and a playroom filled with Ria's toys and books. Ben showed herself devoting herself to parenting, such as cooking directly for the child, and expressed the joy of parenting, saying, "It's fun when the child eats well."

Having passed through difficult times, Ben showed her enduring affection for music. She expressed her will to return to her place, work, and live enjoyably, saying, "My favorite thing was when I sang, and I was happiest when I sang."
