On Lovers of Joseon, Han Yun-seo’s family met Jun-woo’s family, including a mother who had opposed the marriage. The families introduced themselves and discussed their interests, while Han’s family worried about the meeting’s formality and how they should speak.
The family meeting between Han Yun-seo and Jun-woo’s families was shown on TV CHOSUN’s Lovers of Joseon. Tension hung over the gathering, which included Jun-woo’s mother, who had opposed the marriage. Han, speaking from the perspective of a mother sending her daughter into marriage, said she felt nervous. The families also discussed the formality and atmosphere of the meeting.
Before the meeting began, Han’s family talked about how to guide the conversation and what attitude and speaking style to adopt. One family member said they were concerned that they should lower their tone and speak in a more refined way to make a good impression.
Jun-woo began the formal introductions. He described his mother as interested in the arts and sports, emotionally perceptive and meticulous, and said she had also painted. His aunt was introduced as a behind-the-scenes helper in arranging the meeting, including by offering a clue related to Yoon Bo-young, whom Jun-woo’s mother likes.
The introductions continued with the parents’ interests and traits. Jun-woo’s mother enjoys writing and literary activities, and it was mentioned that a poem she wrote had won recognition in a contest. Han’s family also shared the parents’ hobbies and personalities. They returned to the need to adjust their speaking style to suit the formal occasion and took care to avoid making the atmosphere awkward.
