Trot singer Kim Yong-bin met Kim Si-won, a sixth-grade student and Grand Prize winner of 'National Singing Contest'. Their meeting, revealed through TV CHOSUN's 'Trot Kitchen: The Running Dinner Show', fostered a special bond as they shared the experience of debuting at the same age.
"Both debuted in 6th grade" Kim Yong-bin reflects on the weight of his trot days
Kim Si-won revealed that he has been interested in music since kindergarten. His interest began while watching 'Miss Trot' on television at his grandmother's house in the countryside, where he would go every vacation while his working parents were away. Currently, Kim Si-won names Kim Yong-bin as his role model, expressing a desire to emulate his polished dance moves and thorough self-management.

The two shared the commonality of debuting in the sixth grade. Recalling the past, Kim Yong-bin noted that the trot environment back then was quite different from today. "At that time, we had to use video tapes, and to go to Seoul, we had to travel for hours on an unscheduled bus or the Saemaeul-ho," he said. He added that because broadcast programs were not as diverse as they are now, it was not easy to even stand on stage unless one was a famous singer. He noted that programs such as Golden Oldies (TV program), Open Concert, National Singing Contest, Music Best, and Top Ten Songs were limited at the time.
Kim Yong-bin further shared his thoughts, stating, "I believe it is because of those difficult experiences in those days that sadness and 'han' can emerge when singing," suggesting that the process of enduring hardships helps elevate emotions more than an environment where everything is immediately resolved.

He mentioned that he applied for the audition yesterday and appeared to be waiting for quick results.
Sharing a meal and a promise between senior and junior
A friendly atmosphere continued on-site as cast members and visitors mingled. Kim Yong-bin showed a meticulous side by handing a parasol to Kim Si-won's mother to protect her from the sunlight. Kim Yong-bin encouraged Kim Si-won, saying, "We must create your first stage in life," and shared a warm bond between senior and junior by inviting Kim Si-won and his mother to a future meal with other cast members, including Seong-hun.
