Actor Kim Jeong-hyeon showcased his deep live singing skills along with a sincere attitude toward music.
Appearing on the music variety show 'Lee Mujin Service' on the KBS Kpop channel, Kim Jeong-hyeon revealed that he has been continuing his interest in and study of music. He mentioned that he has been paying close attention to the program, even playing 'Lee Mujin Service' as part of his playlist while reading scripts or staying at home. In particular, he added a behind-the-scenes story about his appearance, expressing regret over missing the promotion period for his musical performance. He explained the circumstances that led to his appearance, noting that he only had the opportunity to promote it long after the musical performance had begun.

"A song I listened to when I needed comfort"... 'Adult' sung with the breath of a musical actor
For his first song, Kim Jeong-hyeon chose 'Like the First Snow', the OST for the drama 'Mr. Queen'. He revealed that he wrote the lyrics for this song himself and explained the work process at the time, when he wanted to create music starting from the lyrics. He mentioned his working method of finalizing the work through rewriting lyrics based on the lyrics he had written first to create the song.
For the second song, he selected 'Adult' by Sondia. He said, "It is a song that gave me a lot of comfort. I chose it because it was a song that comforted me when things were difficult," while also conveying the weight of the song by stating, "I am feeling some hardship while practicing. It takes immense effort to make a song that is a song of comfort." Through this stage, he expressed his hope that the song would be remembered as the song Kim Jeong-hyeon sang, rather than Sondia's original version.

As the live performance proceeded, Kim Jeong-hyeon demonstrated the vocalization and ability to utilize space unique to musical actors. In the first verse, he showed stable vocalization using his nasal cavity, and from the second verse, he revealed dynamic vocal volume, capturing the openness of the space as if delivering sound without a handheld microphone on a musical stage. The vocal dynamics designed according to the flow of the song allowed listeners to intuitively feel the narrative of the piece.
From K-pop to george, a playlist with unexpected twists
When asked about his musical tastes, Kim Jeong-hyeon suggested that the range of music he usually listens to is wide. Recently, he mainly listens to musical numbers to prepare for musical works, but he said he gains energy by listening to K-pop, such as aespa's 'Whiplash', BTS's 'Dynamite', and JENNIE's songs, when exercising. He also added that he finds the voice of the artist george attractive and seeks out his music. He explained that when listening to music, he is attracted to the voice and atmosphere more than 80% of the time.
He mentioned 'Slow Dancing in the Dark', which was also covered by John Park, as a song he has recently been into. Describing it as a somewhat dark and gloomy song, he continued the conversation by expressing his intention to digest it with his own vocal cords.
