Kim Yong-pil performs 'Casanova' as cast struggles with mismatched melody and lyric quiz
Cast members of the show 'Tralala Brothers' faced a difficult challenge during a quiz that paired mismatched melodies with different song lyrics.
A "chaotic mixed song quiz," which combined melodies and lyrics from different songs, left the cast members bewildered. In the 15th episode of 'Tralala Brothers' released by TV CHOSUN JOY, a high-difficulty quiz was conducted where participants had to correctly identify the singer and title of the melody, as well as the singer and title of the lyrics.
"Melody is Kim Yeon-ja, lyrics are Cho Yong-pil": Sighs erupt over mismatched combinations
The quiz rules were stringent. To succeed, participants had to accurately identify the singer and song title of the melody being played, along with the singer and song title contained in the lyrics. During the first question, the cast experienced confusion due to the mismatch between melody and lyrics. As the melodies were familiar but the lyrics were structured differently from the original songs, the cast expressed embarrassment, noting they "had to memorize the lyrics."
Tension escalated particularly when a question appeared that mixed the melody of a Kim Yeon-ja song with the lyrics of Cho Yong-pil's 'The Leopard of Kilimanjaro.' The cast struggled, stating, "the lyrics are too difficult." In the process of connecting Kim Yeon-ja, the owner of the melody, with Cho Yong-pil, the owner of the lyrics, confusion arose over the pronunciation of lyrics such as "jeong-ryeol" (alignment/arrangement). Conversations broke out among the cast as they attempted to grasp the lyrical content, with some asking if "jeong-ryeol" meant "to stand in alignment."
Kim Yong-pil's performance of 'Casanova' and a feast of mismatched hints
During the quiz, Kim Yong-pil shifted the atmosphere by singing Yoon Jong Shin's 'Casanova.' He led the stage by reciting the lyrics, "You are a Casanova, is love a joke?" However, as the difficulty of the quiz increased, the cast's reactions were both cold and playful. In the process of seeking hints, the lyrical content "the cricket is crying" was mentioned, leading to an attempt to deduce the answer related to 'Barley Hump.'
The flow of the quiz did not stop at simply guessing songs, continuing into a "steel delivery box quiz" where participants had to guess items inside a steel delivery box. The cast focused on checking the items inside the box, but they left a sense of regret as they failed to guess the correct answers when various items such as zippers, pencils, and cotton swabs were presented. In particular, during the process of searching for items fallen on the floor, a situation was created where it was difficult to find the answer, with reactions such as "I can't see anything at all."
A struggle for the right answer: 'Jeong-ryeol' within mismatched lyrics
The cast struggled to find the correct answers within the mismatched lyrics. Whenever modified lyrics such as "It is because I bet everything, that I am lonely" were presented, attempts were made to recall the lyrics of the original songs. Whenever modified lyrical phrases like "A heartbreaking jeong-ryeol where separation is seen in love" appeared, the cast put their heads together to get the answer right.
The quiz conducted that day filled the stage by twisting familiar national songs, simultaneously testing the musical knowledge and quick wit of the cast members.
