Gag Concert satirizes matchmaking grades and generational marriage value clashes

A segment on KBS 2TV's 'Gag Concert' mocked matchmaking agencies by showing how a salary increase from 20 million won could still result in a grade downgrade due to rising living costs. The sketches further highlighted generational conflicts through debates over traditional marriage values and modern lifestyle habits.

A segment aired on KBS 2TV's 'Gag Concert' depicted meetings through matchmaking agencies and the stark differences in values between generations. Through scenes ranging from agency consultations to actual blind dates, the cast satirized how views on marriage have changed over time.

"Salary rose but C-grade"... Grade readjustments at matchmaking agencies

During the matchmaking consultation process, individuals were subjected to cold grading based on their personal conditions. Seo Tae-hoon received point deductions from a consultant due to his past dating experience and the timing of his last relationship. When his unemployed status was mentioned, the consultant labeled him a "bottom-tier grade" and stated that joining would be difficult. However, once it was revealed that Seo Tae-hoon lives off rental income from a building owned by his parents, his grade was immediately upgraded to a higher tier.

The segment also portrayed situations where a salary increase did not necessarily lead to a higher grade. Han Su-chan requested a grade readjustment because his annual salary had risen from the previous 20 million won, but the consultant notified him that his grade had been downgraded from B to C because the cost of living had increased further.

"Do the dishes immediately"... Checking realistic conditions and clashes

During the blind dates, specific questions were exchanged to verify the potential spouse's conditions. In the meeting between Seo Seong-gyeong and Han Su-chan, the list of questions included whether annual salaries were pre-tax or post-tax, the loan ratio if owning a home, and the retirement preparedness of parents. Additionally, tension rose with lifestyle-related questions such as the frequency of taking food photos, the number of LoL games played on weekends, and dishwashing habits.

During this process, one cast member presented realistic lifestyle rules, demanding that the partner take only one photo of food and wash dishes immediately instead of leaving them soaking in water.

"Must have 12 children"... Clashing marriage values of changing times

In the latter half of the blind dates, conflicts appeared between individuals holding traditional values and those with modern perspectives. When one cast member expressed a desire for a spouse who would prepare a five-dish meal after work, the partner pointed out that such a statement does not align with current societal trends. In particular, when a comment was made that "one should have twelve children smoothly," the partner responded, "Are you the one giving birth?" causing the conversation to halt.

Conflicts regarding regional backgrounds also continued. Situations were staged where conversations diverged upon the revelation of being from Jeolla Province and Gyeongsang Province, and the segment concluded with a scuffle among the cast members over actions such as holding hands.
