Broadcaster Kim Dae-ho has personally addressed the "hit-and-run resignation" controversy and agency-related issues that arose during his resignation process from MBC. Appearing on the 969th episode of MBC's 'Radio Star' (hereafter 'Radio Star') aired on June 24, 2026, Kim Dae-ho shared his honest feelings regarding the allegations raised against him.
Clarification on Resignation Procedures and the 'Hit-and-Run' Controversy
Kim Dae-ho explained that his decision to resign was by no means sudden or irresponsible. He stated that before expressing his intention to resign, he first conveyed his decision to the writers of 'I Live Alone' and then followed the formal procedure of reporting it to the announcer bureau. In particular, he added that he decided to resign after fulfilling his duties for the '2024 Paris Summer Olympics' broadcasting to ensure he fulfilled his responsibilities to the company.
Regarding the "hit-and-run resignation" allegations raised by some, he dismissed the controversy by mentioning the financial aspect. He noted, "The signing bonus I received when contracting with the agency was more than my severance pay," implying that he did not cause any financial loss to the company during the resignation process. As for the changes after his resignation, he mentioned that while there is the inconvenience of having to get a new access pass when visiting the MBC building, he can now enjoy resting at home without the tension of work.
Feelings Regarding 'PD Notebook' Contact and Agency Issues
He also heightened tension by mentioning issues related to his agency. Kim Dae-ho revealed that he had been contacted by the current affairs program 'PD Notebook' regarding recent controversies involving his agency. He honestly confessed the psychological pressure he felt at the time, saying, "When I was contacted by 'PD Notebook,' I felt uncomfortable and scared."
When host Kim Gura asked about the agency controversy and the possibility of financial issues, Kim Dae-ho replied, "It hurts my heart too much to speak in detail. However, I have never regretted it." This statement shows that despite the mental distress caused by the agency issues, he maintains a firm conviction regarding his choices.
Appearance on the 'Radio Star' Conviction Special
In this special episode conducted under the theme "Everyone is fighting their own convictions," Kim Dae-ho appeared alongside Lee Ji-young, Kyung Soo-jin, and Kim Min-kyung to share stories about their respective lives. Kim expressed his affection for the program, saying, "It feels like you call me whenever various situations are not easy and a breakthrough is needed."
