Ju Ji-hoon "16 million views on Pinggyego is more [meaningful] than a 10 million viewer movie"
Actor Ju Ji-hoon shared his thoughts on the high view counts of the YouTube channel 'Pinggyego' at the Blue Dragon Series Awards.
"Movies can be analyzed, but variety shows cannot" Ju Ji-hoon's honest confession
Actor Ju Ji-hoon expressed his amazement that the high view counts of YouTube variety shows are even more surprising than movies that attract ten million viewers. Attending the handprinting event for the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards (BSA) held at CGV Yongsan IPARK Mall in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 7th, Ju Ji-hoon shared witty remarks about his recent activities.
Ju Ji-hoon has already reached the status of a "ten-million viewer actor" through the movie series 'Along with the Gods.' However, he could not hide his bewilderment at the massive impact of the YouTube web variety show 'Pinggyego,' in which he recently appeared as a guest. He remarked, "It seems harder to surpass 10 million views on 'Pinggyego' than it is for a movie."
He specifically pointed out the differences in the production environments of movies and variety shows. "Movies have VFX effects and intense emotions, but in 'Pinggyego,' we just sat down and blabbered about our own stories," he explained. He added, "The duration is also about 2 hours, which is similar to the time spent watching a movie."
Mentioning that the views for the recent 'Pinggyego' video have exceeded 16 million, he expressed his wonder. Ju Ji-hoon said, "Movies can be analyzed, but 'Pinggyego' cannot be analyzed, which makes it even more mysterious," adding, "In reality, 80% of the talking time belongs to Mr. Yoon Kyung-ho, so I am happy that 16 million people listened to that story," which brought laughter to the scene.
"Even trimming my nails"... Ju Ji-hoon's sincerity prepared for the handprinting
Ju Ji-hoon's attitude toward the event was quite solemn. He added a touch of wit, stating, "I came here today after washing my hands thoroughly and even getting my cuticles removed."
He also did not forget to mention the weather at the venue. "I feel refreshed. The rain stopped earlier, so it feels like even the weather is helping us," he said.
Last year, Ju Ji-hoon updated his career-defining character by playing the role of Baek Kang-hyuk, a highly dedicated genius surgeon, in the Netflix series 'Trauma Center.' At the event, he created a warm atmosphere with a side of himself that was the complete opposite of his powerful character in the drama.

"It's even more mysterious because it can't be analyzed" Ju Ji-hoon's honest feelings
Ju Ji-hoon expressed his bewilderment regarding the recent view count of the 'Pinggyego' video exceeding 16 million. He said, "Movies can be analyzed, but 'Pinggyego' cannot be analyzed, which makes it even more mysterious."
He then joked, "In reality, 80% of the video's content is Mr. Yoon Kyung-ho, so it's just baffling that 16 million people listened intently to that story."
From 'Along with the Gods' ten-million actor to 'Pinggyego' ten-million views
