Girl group Secret has stood before the public again after 12 years. Their special mini-album 'Secret Flavor,' released on the 18th of last month, marks the first time the name Secret has been presented in 12 years since 2014.

The leader Jeon Hyo-seong's decision was decisive for this comeback. On the 9th, at the RBW headquarters in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Jeon stated, "I was worried that the public might no longer be curious about us, but I returned after 12 years because I missed the stage and singing." Prepared over a year and a half, this album consists of a total of 8 songs, including the title track 'ICE CREAM,' 'GET RIGHT,' and new versions of the hit songs fans loved, 'Madonna' and 'Shy Boy.'

Jeon Hyo-seong made it clear that this activity would not be a one-time event. "Many people think this is a one-time comeback, but it is not. We plan to continue activities as Secret as much as possible in the future," she said. She explained that leaving behind the regrets of having to release incomplete albums due to relentless schedules in the past, this time she felt the joy of growing by directly offering opinions and participating. She appeared satisfied with the fact that the album was released to the world rather than its commercial performance.

Original member Zinger shared her feelings regarding the long hiatus. Zinger's eyes welled up as she said, "The team's hiatus was 12 years, but the hiatus of the person named Zinger was also 12 years." She confessed that while the pressure to stand on stage again was great, a word from someone she met on the street—"I will support Zinger no matter what she does"—became her pillar of support and helped her find her dream again.

She expressed gratitude to the fans who waited for her in one place and added that for those experiencing similar struggles, it seems like opportunities will come again, so they should not give up on their dreams and should endure.

The addition of new member Yebin is also noteworthy. Yebin, who was personally scouted by Jeon Hyo-seong, appeared on the 2024 JTBC audition program 'Girls on Fire' and referred to herself as a 'Secret Kid.' Despite the pressure of being in a team with senior members, she showed passion to fulfill her responsibility as the main vocalist. In the released practice room choreography video, Yebin demonstrated a vocal tone and singing ability that harmonizes with Secret's music.

A record from 2009 debut to 2021 hiatus

Debuting in 2009, Secret made a name for themselves with 'Magic' released the following year. They subsequently enjoyed popularity with songs ranging from 'Madonna' and 'MOVE' to 'Shy Boy' and 'Starlight Moonlight.' The members define their time as Secret as their 'youth.'

Secret, whose group activities stopped in 2021 with the closure of their agency TS Entertainment, is now drawing a new future by joining hands with the agency RBW. Jeon Hyo-seong expressed her wish to hold concerts in the future.
