Edward Kwon vs. Lim Ki-hak, 1:1 Deathmatch Showdown
In the 4th episode of tvN's 'Street Restaurant Fighter', 1:1 deathmatches will take place at a beer festival with a capacity of 2,000 people. Including the clash between Edward Kwon and Lim Ki-hak, 9 teams will face immediate closure.
"One of you has to go home" A head-to-head showdown of masters' pride
tvN's 'Street Restaurant Fighter' has teased a brutal battle for survival. In the 4th episode airing today (the 12th) at 7:35 PM, the 'Street Beer Festival,' with an expected 2,000 visitors, appears as the second commercial district.
This mission is a '1:1 Same-Price Deathmatch.' The 18 surviving teams will pair up to face off, and the 9 losing teams must close their businesses immediately on the spot. Participants must prove their food taste, cooking speed, and sales strategies against the surging crowd of customers.
The most eye-catching matchup is the 'French Derby,' where Edward Kwon's 'Masikdang' clashes with Lim Ki-hak's 'Bola Bol.' Edward Kwon expressed anticipation for the duel, saying, "It sounds fun." In response, Lim Ki-hak fired back with a bold provocation, saying, "I can win easily. One of you has to go home."
The Korean food battle is also intense. In the 'Korean Food Battle' between Kim Mi-ryung's 'Gotgan' and Cho Seo-hyung's 'The Star is in My Heart,' Kim Mi-ryung showed a sharp reaction, asking, "Do I look easy to you?" Cho Seo-hyung displayed unwavering confidence, stating, "I just have a feeling. I won't be going home."
The 'Yongsan Derby' between Kim Hoon's 'Hungry' and Kim Hee-eun and her husband's 'Byeolnan Buboo' is also heating up. Kim Hoon revealed, "I nominated them because I want to try winning a Michelin star." The couple, Kim Hee-eun and her husband, teased the veterans' toughness, saying, "A star isn't something you can get that easily."
On-site situations causing mental breakdowns, mixed emotions
Contrary to the glamorous matchups, the atmosphere on-site was desperate. In a business facing a crowd of 2,000, some teams encountered unexpected obstacles. Watching customers flock to other shops, participants could not hide their bewilderment, asking, "Why isn't it selling? Why is everyone going over there?"
The extreme pressure led to psychological breakdowns. On-site, moments of mental collapse were captured, with participants saying, "I'm so annoyed I don't even want to do this," and "Honestly, I can't do this."
Shocking results were already revealed in the 3rd episode. One of the four kings of Chinese cuisine and the sales king were eliminated. Ko Seok-hyun's 'Agungi,' which was the lowest in lunch sales, dramatically survived by making a decisive move with a menu change and direct meat grilling, generating 1.17 million won in sales.
On the other hand, Yu Bang-nyeong's 'Seonrin' and Yang Ji-sam's 'Arirang House' eventually closed down due to sluggish sales caused by excessive ingredient costs and failed commercial district analysis.
The fate of 9 teams to be decided on the Beer Festival stage
The final 9 teams that will survive the 'Street Beer Festival' stage, the second commercial district, will be revealed through today's broadcast. This mission determines victory or defeat by having two teams sell menus at the same price.
The 4th episode of tvN's 'Street Restaurant Fighter' airs on the 12th at 7:35 PM. TVING will exclusively provide unreleased clips and team introduction VCRs not included in the broadcast.
