Lee Ki-taek “Should I even attend a game academy?” 7km heavy rain
On KBS2's '2 Days & 1 Night', Lee Ki-taek expressed regret over his gaming skills while marching through 7km of heavy rain, even mentioning a 'gaming academy.' In response to DinDin's question, he shared his sincere feelings, stating that he has no regrets about joining and would even want to come back after filming.
A 7km Trek Through Heatwaves and Heavy Rain: A Survival Game Without Smiles
In the episode of KBS2's '2 Days & 1 Night' aired on the 11th, the members' struggles were depicted as they had to trek 7km in a heatwave. This journey, taking place on National Route 7, was a harsh environment where scorching sunlight and pouring heavy rain mixed together.
To help the members, who were growing exhausted as they walked toward their destination, the production team proposed a 'One, Two, Three' game to select two survivors. After a fierce competition, Lee Joon and Lee Yong-jin won the chance to ride in a vehicle. Lee Yong-jin, who is in his third episode since joining, drew laughter by revealing the truth of variety show survival, saying, "There is no concession. You have to sleep when you can sleep inside."
The remaining members, who began walking again while envying those who were saved, became significantly quieter. Even the new member Lee Ki-taek, who usually boasts infinite positive energy, fell into silence.
The production team provided one last chance to ride in the vehicle to determine a single survivor. As a result of a word game, Kim Jong-min was selected, and Moon Se-yoon was dramatically saved through a sudden rock-paper-scissors match proposed by the production team. In the end, the ones left until the very end were DinDin and Lee Ki-taek. The two silently walked the 7km path, reminiscing about their memories of marching during their military service.
“Should I attend a gaming academy?” Lee Ki-taek's Confession and DinDin's Pointed Joke
Contrary to his sturdy appearance, Lee Ki-taek showed his weakness in games and vented his frustration at DinDin's mischievous teasing. When DinDin said, "You're not exceptionally good at anything. You haven't won a single game all day," Lee Ki-taek expressed his determination, saying, "Do I need to attend an academy? I should at least attend a gaming academy."
DinDin responded, "If you even say 'hey hey' here, you'll be possessed. Then there's no answer." Lee Ki-taek acted cute, saying, "I have good team luck, so I'm trying to go with you, hyung," to which DinDin replied, "Come to think of it, we've slept together three times in a row."
As the rain began to fall, Lee Ki-taek showed a positive side, saying, "It's still quite atmospheric." On the other hand, DinDin expressed dissatisfaction, saying that while he also likes walking, the flying insects are swarming too much because of the lights carried by the production staff ahead.
Lee Ki-taek Says He Has No Regrets Joining, Bursting into Laughter at DinDin's Sharp Joke
The conversation between the two naturally led to their true feelings about joining '2 Days & 1 Night.' When DinDin threw a surprise question at Lee Ki-taek asking if he had ever regretted joining, Lee Ki-taek replied, "I don't regret it."
DinDin asked again, "Isn't it hard when your project filming and schedules overlap?" Lee Ki-taek admitted that his current drama filming schedule and the program's filming are indeed overlapping. He confessed, "Right now is exactly that kind of period, and while it's hard, it's so much fun once the filming is over. It's fun during filming too, but once it's over, I want to go back again."
Not missing this comment, DinDin threw a sharp, pointed joke, saying, "Then that means it's not fun during filming." DinDin then added, "I hope (the production team) calls me only after a month."
