Hwang In-youp and Lee Hye-ri reunite after 15 years, ENA 'To You'

The reunion of a genius director returning to keep a 15-year-old promise and a woman who has forgotten her dreams

Hwang In-yeop and Lee Hye-ri rewrite the memories of their first love after 15 years. ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Dream to You' has confirmed its first broadcast for July 13 at 10 PM. This work is a romantic comedy about the reunion of Woo Su-bin (played by Hwang In-yeop), a genius film director who achieved his dreams, and Ju Yi-jae (played by Lee Hye-ri), who lives as a livelihood-oriented reporter after giving up her dreams due to the walls of reality.

The released stills show the two characters developing a narrative that intersects between the past and the present. Their fresh appearance in their teens, holding hands and looking at each other, captures the flutter of first love. A photo capturing Woo Su-bin's gaze as he watches Ju Yi-jae tie her hair evokes memories from 15 years ago.

Their appearance after 15 years is quite different. The contrasting expressions of Woo Su-bin, who offers an umbrella to Ju Yi-jae on a rainy street with affectionate eyes, and Ju Yi-jae, who stares at him coldly, reveal the complex emotional lines between the two.

In the drama, Woo Su-bin grows into a genius director who sweeps international film festivals after succeeding with his first feature film, moving past the life designed by his parents. He returns to Korea to keep his promise to complete the film 'Gyeongseong Love Song,' which he had left unfinished with Ju Yi-jae in the past. On the other hand, Ju Yi-jae is a character who harbored the dream of becoming a film director but lives having forgotten that dream after hitting the wall of reality. The two stand before the same goal once again.

The trajectory of love drawn by writer Jung Eun-bi and director Yoo Sun-dong

This work features a script by Jung Eun-bi, who participated in writing 'Mr. Sunshine,' which recorded a peak viewership of 18.1%, and 'Goblin,' which reached 20.5%. Director Yoo Sun-dong will handle the direction to realize emotional visual beauty. The drama consists of a total of 12 episodes.

In addition to the reunion of the protagonists, characters with different kinds of love and dreams appear. Shim Yu-geon (played by Baek Seong-cheol), who continues his life as an extra while dreaming of becoming the Takeshi Kaneshiro of Korea, and top actress Oh Ha-na (played by Lee Yeol-eum), who has been in the spotlight since birth due to the influence of her mother, a former Miss Korea, are intertwined in their relationship. Shim Yu-geon, who does not give up on his dream, and Oh Ha-na, who dreams of a life outside the film set, accidentally become entangled and start a new relationship.

Realistic adult romance also forms a core axis. Seo In-wook (played by Lee Sang-yeob), the CEO of a film production company who has stayed by Woo Su-bin's side until his success, follows him to Korea when Woo Su-bin leaves to find his first love, Ju Yi-jae. Broadcast writer Choi Sa-rang (played by Lee Ji-min) is a person who makes dating programs while enjoying reading romance novels. Choi Sa-rang falls into strange emotions with Seo In-wook while trying to cast him in a dating program.

The cast leading the family narrative is also solid. Ju Yi-jae's mother Park Hyun-ok (played by Park Myung-shin), Woo Su-bin's parents Woo Chul-gyu (played by Jung Hae-gyun) and Lee Hwa-yeon (played by Bang Eun-jin), Shim Yu-geon's father Shim Shin (played by Lim Ki-hong), and Oh Ha-na's mother Ahn Su-hee (played by Park Ji-young) support the flow of the drama.

A journey of reunion toward the unfinished film 'Gyeongseong Love Song'

The production team stated, "Woo Su-bin and Ju Yi-jae, who ran together with dreams and love and shone brilliantly, reunite after 15 years," and "The journey of completing the film that was left unfinished together will make viewers' hearts beat again."

The special poster captures the film set that the two will create together. Chairs with the names of Director Woo Su-bin and Director Ju Yi-jae, along with lights and equipment placed over the filming set, reveal the meaning of the reunion after 15 years and the unfinished film.

'Dream to You' will air every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM on ENA and can also be watched through KT Genie TV and TVING.
