Forestella, undefeated in Part 1 of 'Immortal Songs' Grand Champions Match
Forestella won the 2026 Immortal Songs King of Kings Part 1 with 403 points, marking their fourth consecutive victory. They successively defeated B1A4, Hwang Min Ho X Soo Yeon Lee, Libelante, and Park Seo-jin.
Crossover group Forestella emerged victorious without a single defeat in Part 1 of the KBS 2TV 'Immortal Songs' 2026 King of Kings special. In the 765th episode of 'Immortal Songs' King of Kings special broadcast on July 18, 2026, Forestella recorded 403 points with their reinterpretation of Ahn Yeeun's 'Chang-gwi'. Starting with the duo Hwang Min Ho X Soo Yeon Lee, they achieved a four-game winning streak by defeating Libelante and Park Seo-jin in succession.
An undefeated streak started with 'Chang-gwi'
Forestella took the stage as the first contestants of this King of Kings special, performing Ahn Yeeun's 'Chang-gwi'. They presented a performance reminiscent of the Saja Boys from the globally popular 'K-Pop Demon Hunters'. Forestella gained momentum by winning against the duo Hwang Min Ho and Soo Yeon Lee (403 points), who passionately sang Psy's 'Now' in their first stage.
After watching Forestella's performance, Soo Yeon Lee said, "I felt relieved after finishing my first stage, but I started trembling as soon as I saw the second stage." She continued, "Recently, my algorithm has been taken over by Forestella," mentioning the charm of Go Woorim's low notes. To this, Go Woorim replied, "It's surprising that it can work even with teenagers."
The second match was a 'Military Derby' against Libelante. Since Libelante member Kim Ji-hoon was known to be Go Woorim's direct junior in the military band, the MCs named it the 'Military Derby'. Libelante chose SG Wannabe's 'My Person'. Aiming at Forestella's 'Chang-gwi' stage, Libelante expressed their determination, saying, "Our song is closer to 'good'. We will try to defeat Forestella's song, which is closer to 'evil,' by exorcising the 'Chang-gwi'." Despite presenting an orchestral arrangement, Libelante could not stop Forestella's winning streak. Forestella then recorded their third consecutive win by surpassing Park Seo-jin, who sang Sobangcha's 'Last Night's Story'.
B1A4's challenge and confirmation of the 4th consecutive win
B1A4, who took the stage as the last order of Part 1, chose Shim Soo-bong's 'I Hate You'. B1A4 presented an arrangement and dance performance that reinterpreted the trot song with their own unique color. Soo Yeon Lee mentioned the chemistry of the 15-year-old group, saying, "I didn't know the song 'I Hate You' in detail, but I didn't know the atmosphere of the song would change this much." Lyn mentioned B1A4's Gongchan, whom she met in the waiting room, saying, "Gongchan stood out even back then, and seeing today's stage brought back those memories."
B1A4 aimed for a comeback victory, but Forestella maintained the lead by recording 403 points. Before taking the stage, Forestella showed their ambition, saying, "Since we've come this far as humans, we covet the trophy." A total of 10 teams participated in this King of Kings special, including Lyn X Jo Jazz, Min Woo-hyuk X Cho Hyung-gyun X Kim Joo-ri, K.Will, Kim Dong-jun X Young Tak, and Nexz. Forestella holds a record of 6 consecutive wins in the King of Kings, and the final winning team will be decided through the broadcast of Part 2.
