Seventeen V8 meets 10,000 fans in Hong Kong for 1st mini album promotions
Seventeen unit V8 has completed their activities for their 1st mini album, concluding with a performance in Hong Kong. Following their global achievements, such as entering the Billboard 200, their upcoming schedule includes podcasts and various broadcast appearances.
Seventeen unit V8 (The8, Vernon) has concluded the major schedules for their 1st mini album activities with their Hong Kong performance. From the 17th to the 19th, The8 and Vernon held '2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE - HONG KONG' at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong. Originally planned as two performances, an additional show was added due to fan response, resulting in a total of three performances that drew approximately 10,000 spectators.
Stage Setlist Composed Entirely of Standing Seats
This concert was conducted with all standing seats. V8 performed all tracks from their 1st mini album 'V8' and included unreleased songs that showcase the members' individual capabilities in the setlist. They sequentially presented The8's solo track '裂痕 (AWAKE)', Vernon's 'I'LL BE BACK', and 'Bad Influence (Prod. by Pharrell Williams)', a track from Seventeen's 5th full album. During the encore stage, The8 took charge of DJing to lead the atmosphere, followed by a closing performance of Seventeen's 'VERY NICE' together with dancers.
Billboard 200 Entry and Half Million Seller Record
Album performance was reflected in the numbers. The 1st mini album 'V8' recorded half million seller status, surpassing cumulative sales of 500,000 copies just three days after its release. Global chart success followed. It entered the US Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200' as of July 18, and took 1st place on the Japanese Oricon 'Daily Album Ranking' as of July 17. In China, it also topped the QQ Music 'Digital Bestseller Album' daily and weekly charts, as well as the Circle Chart weekly album chart. US-based The Fader described the album as "an album that defies conventional predictions for K-pop projects," while Vogue Singapore evaluated it as an "electro-pop masterpiece."
Upcoming Podcasts and Broadcast Appearances
Content releases will continue even after the conclusion of activities. The bonus episode of 'STAN [SEVENTEEN]', an original content from the HYBE Media Studio podcast channel 'STAN:A', will be released on Spotify and YouTube on the 31st. Meanwhile, Vernon will appear on SBS 'The Story of the Day That Bites Its Own Tail' broadcasting on the 23rd.
