An independence activist who blew up military supplies at age 16, actress Hong Ji-min's

Musical actress Hong Ji-min has revealed for the first time the life of her father, who dedicated himself to the independence movement during the Japanese colonial period. Appearing on KBS 2TV's 'Malja Show' broadcast on the 20th, Hong Ji-min revealed that her father joined the independence movement group 'Baekdusanhoe' and was active at the young age of 16.

Hong Ji-min's father carried out dangerous missions, such as blowing up military supplies heading to Japan. During this process, her father was arrested by the Japanese authorities and spent a year and a half in prison, only being released after the liberation. Due to her father's history as an independence activist, Hong Ji-min's childhood was not economically prosperous.

The path walked by Mr. Hong Chang-sik of Baekdusanhoe

The independence activist revealed by Hong Ji-min is Mr. Hong Chang-sik. He joined the independence movement group 'Baekdusanhoe' at the age of 16 and participated in operations to blow up military supplies bound for Japan.

After being arrested by the Japanese authorities, Mr. Hong Chang-sik continued his life in prison for a year and a half and was released along with the liberation. Hong Ji-min recalled growing up in an economically difficult environment due to her father's history as an independence activist.

Connection with the Taekwondo master who waived all training fees

The Taekwondo master who watched over Hong Ji-min's childhood also appeared in the broadcast. Hong Ji-min, who learned Taekwondo from the 3rd grade of elementary school throughout her school years, shared that the master at the time knew her father was an independence activist.

The master recalled, "After learning that Ji-min's father was an independence activist, I waived all of her training fees." Behind the fact that Hong Ji-min's three sisters were all able to learn Taekwondo despite the difficult circumstances was the consideration of their teacher. As the youngest, Hong Ji-min grew up completely unaware that the master had not charged tuition at the time.

After learning this fact later, Hong Ji-min sought out her mentor again through the former program 'TV is Carrying Love.' Hong Ji-min stood up and greeted the master, saying, "Since our reunion, I have continued to serve him and check in on him frequently. He is a truly grateful teacher."

Hong Ji-min, who lost 30kg after childbirth, gave realistic advice to those sharing their diet concerns. Pointing out the cause of diet failure, she emphasized, "The reason people fail is because they say they will start tomorrow. You must start right now."

Kim Young-hee, Jung Bum-kyoon, and others appeared in the broadcast. Regarding the expression 'Daekkiri' used by Hong Ji-min, Kim Young-hee explained, "It means it's the best."
