A global commerce survival show with a prize pool of $500,000, approximately 700 million Korean won, is about to kick off. 'X The League (XTL),' co-produced by ENA and Lalasstation, is a national competition where 8 teams from a total of 9 countries—including Korea, the US, Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia—will clash. Scheduled to premiere on August 2nd at 7:50 PM, the program features 40 top-tier sellers active on the global stage who will engage in a fierce 100-day sales war to claim the title of 'Global No.1 Seller.'
360 Million Total Subscribers Among 40 Global Influencers
The scale of this project is evident in the lineup of the cast. The global impact is immense, with the combined SNS subscriber count of the 40 participating sellers exceeding 360 million. From the US team, Francesca Farago, who gained fame through the Netflix reality series 'Too Hot to Handle,' has joined, while popular creator Jianhao Tan, who boasts 7.7 million subscribers, has entered the fray for the Singapore and Malaysia team.
The Korean team's lineup is equally dazzling. Noh Hee-young, known as Korea's top brand maker, serves as the team owner, and actress Ki Eun-se steps up as the team captain. Joining them as team members to aim for victory are beauty creator Sang-eun Unnie, practical item expert Kkak Unnie, and fashion expert Kang Stylist. In the released main teaser, Ki Eun-se noted the changing global commerce environment, saying, "With just one click, products from the other side of the world come into my hands. It is literally the opening of 'one single market.'" Noh Hee-young also expressed strong determination, stating, "We'll have to see how it goes, but the goal is victory."
Tiffany Young and BamBam's Synergy, a National Sales Showdown
The hosting will be handled by two individuals with extensive experience on the global stage. Girls' Generation member Tiffany Young is expected to lead stable hosting based on her experience living in the US, while GOT7 member BamBam will show a unique presence by participating not only as an MC but also as the owner of the Thailand representative team. BamBam's role is expected to go beyond simple hosting, acting as a strategic element that determines the team's victory or defeat.
Tension among the participants is also rising. In the teaser video, some sellers expressed caution, saying, "We are wary of the Chinese team because of their large population," while others showed ambition, claiming, "There is no team we particularly fear." With 200 brands participating in this competition, the footage captures scenes of cheers and tears alternating according to sales rankings. The production team stated they will vividly deliver the influencers' fierce selling strategies and the behind-the-scenes stories. In a tense situation where rankings can shift by a difference of just 1 won, the 40 sellers will compete for 100 days, staking their national honor and their own names on the outcome.
Main Teaser Revealing Competitive Spirit Released
The main teaser released on the 22nd announced the start of the full-scale war as representative sellers from 8 countries appeared one after another. In the video, participants expressed wariness by mentioning the population of the Chinese team or showed confidence by saying they fear no team. Along with scenes where joy and sorrow are divided according to sales rankings, the phrase 'Rankings reversed by a difference of just 1 won' flows across the screen.
