Jin Jin-gyeong and Lee Dong-yoon's 'Don't Go' to be released simultaneously in Korea and China
Singer Jin Jin-gyeong, who boasts 1.4 million followers, is officially launching her career with the simultaneous release of Lee Dong-yoon's "Don't Go" in Korea and China.
Jin Jin-gyeong, a singer who amassed 1.4 million followers on Chinese TikTok (Douyin) by performing K-pop, is set to make her official debut as a recording artist. On the 27th at noon, Jin will simultaneously release "Don't Go," a remake of Lee Dong-yoon's original track, in both Korea and China.
The new single is the song that received the most requests from fans during Jin's live broadcasts. She plans to continue her musical career building on the popularity she has steadily accumulated through her live performances.
A Record 70,000 Concurrent Viewers and Personal Trials
Jin's live streaming career began in 2020. At the time, she built recognition by interpreting popular Korean songs with her own unique sensibility through live broadcasts. Reflecting on her most memorable moment, Jin cited the experience of having approximately 70,000 concurrent viewers tuning in to hear her sing. This experience, where so many people connected at the same time to listen to her music, became the motivation for her to pour even more sincerity into every song she sings.
Her journey has not always been smooth. As her father began his battle with cancer, she frequently had to interrupt her live broadcasts. Following her father's passing, she went through a difficult period where even facing fans online was challenging due to her personal sense of loss. In a situation where psychological recovery was needed, Jin picked up the microphone again, thinking of the fans who had waited for her. The presence of fans wishing for her well-being every day became the driving force for her to resume broadcasting.
Collaborating with Composer Ryu Won-kwang
Composer Ryu Won-kwang, who wrote the song Jin had previously performed during her live streams, participated in the production of the new single "Don't Go." The production company, Yogurt Studio, stated that the high quality of the song was a result of Jin's intense personal motivation during the project.
To complete this work, Jin stayed in Korea to record both the Korean and Chinese versions. The production company noted that Jin's stable vocal abilities allowed the recording process to be completed quickly. In the studio, Jin's vocals maintained her signature smooth tone, from the opening lines, "Is parting this easy / Is love this easy / Unable to say anything, anything at all / I just froze like a fool," to the climax, "Don't go, please don't go / My beloved."
Visit to Korea and Message to Fans
Jin expressed that her few days in Korea for the recording were both enjoyable and meaningful. Regarding the release of the new single, she shared her thoughts, saying, "I am delighted and happy to officially share my news through this song release with the Korean viewers and fans who have communicated so closely with me through my live broadcasts."
