Moon Hee-joon makes a comeback with his signature 'curtain hair' to celebrate his 30th debut anniversary
Moon Hee-joon, formerly of H.O.T., is reportedly growing out his hair again, returning to the signature bob cut he was once known for, following requests from his fans.
Moon Hee-joon, a former member of the group H.O.T., has teased a stylistic transformation to celebrate his 30th anniversary since debut. Appearing on the SBS program 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' aired on the 28th, he revealed the reason behind regrowing his signature 'curtain hair' from his early career.
When asked by his wife, Soyul, why he was growing his hair out, Moon Hee-joon cited requests from his fans. "As it's my 30th anniversary since debut, fans have been asking, 'We want to see your old bob hairstyle.' So, I'm growing it out for the first time in a long while," he said. Having sported a bob as his primary style for about five years during his early debut years, he expressed his intention to show fans a look from that era.
Strict secrecy for a surprise stage transformation
His plans extend beyond just hairstyle to a specific change in hair color. Moon Hee-joon emphasized strict secrecy, keeping the color he plans to reveal on stage a secret even from his wife, Soyul. When Soyul expressed curiosity, he maintained a firm stance, saying, "I have to reveal the color on stage for the first time. I even have to keep it a secret from my wife."
Moon Hee-joon shared his meticulous plan: "I'll dye my hair the day before, wear a hat during rehearsals, and then reveal the color during the actual performance." Watching this, MC Kim Sook joked about his style, saying, "Don't you look a bit like me now? You're starting to look more and more like me," to which Moon Hee-joon responded, "I like it, though?"
Sharing marital struggles with Jo Woo-jong
During the broadcast, Moon Hee-joon and Jo Woo-jong shared the everyday struggles they face with their respective wives. The conversation continued as Jo Woo-jong and Jung Da-eun visited the home of Moon Hee-joon and Park Soyul. The couple visited to help Moon Hee-joon with his diet, though Moon Hee-joon expressed hesitation toward Jung Da-eun's salt-free cooking. Jo Woo-jong remarked that eating his wife's food would cause him to "lose 10kg in 10 years," but Moon Hee-joon praised the taste of a hot dog made by Jo Woo-jong.
The two husbands were in agreement regarding their wives' personalities. Jo Woo-jong described his wife as a bright person who tends to forget things rather than worry about them. Moon Hee-joon shared an anecdote where Soyul called him with a cheerful voice even after she had scraped the car bumper twice. While Jung Da-eun remarked, "I think a household can be peaceful when there is a bright person around," Jo Woo-jong countered by saying his wife causes all sorts of small and large accidents. Kim Gu-ra commented to Jo Woo-jong, "You've met a comrade. It's been a while since I've seen Jo Woo-jong talking so energetically."
Moon Hee-joon revealed that he manages the pace of conflicts by being the first to approach and tap someone on the shoulder to resolve things quickly, even if he is angry. Jo Woo-jong drew laughter by commenting, "So you're basically performing a one-man play." Meanwhile, Jo Woo-jong voiced realistic grievances regarding his wife's business. He lamented that while he is paying off millions in loans every month, his wife asks, "What should I do when my sales reach 10 billion won?" when her current sales are not even 10 million won. When Seo Jang-hoon remarked that it is a relief Soyul is not running a business, Moon Hee-joon replied, "When you think about it, there are many points of happiness."
