From signing a house contract on Jeju Island to selling out a nationwide tour, Singer Sungri's journey continues.
Following his victory on Nameless Legend, Singer Sungri is maintaining unstoppable momentum, securing a home on Jeju Island, appearing in a film, and selling out his nationwide tour concerts.
Singer Sungri is rapidly expanding his professional footprint across broadcasting, live performances, and film following his victory on the audition program 'Legend of the Nameless.' Sungri recently finalized the contract for a second home in Jeju Island—a prize for his win—and has also begun filming a movie bearing his name. He is effectively broadening his scope from music into general content creation.
Sungri's buzz is clearly reflected in the data. In the Week 31 Singer Brand Value index, collected from July 27 to August 2, Sungri ranked 16th overall with 58,844 points. Notably, 51,080 points, or 86.8% of his total score, came from the readership index, indicating that reader interest in articles related to Sungri is driving his brand value. He climbed the rankings with an increase of 8,594 points compared to the previous week.
'Legendary Men' Ranks No. 1 in Sunday Variety Ratings for Four Consecutive Weeks
The spin-off program 'Legendary Men,' featuring the 'Legend of the Nameless' TOP 7 (Sungri, Haru, Jang Han-byeol, Hwang Yun-seong, Jeong Yeon-ho, Lee Chang-min, and Iru-ne), is showing strong dominance in the Sunday variety market. After airing four episodes, the program has maintained the No. 1 spot in total viewership ratings across all channels for four consecutive weeks, recording 4.1% for Episode 1, 5.1% for Episode 2, 4.7% for Episode 3, and 4.8% for Episode 4. The peak minute rating exceeded 5%.
The gap between 'Legendary Men' and its competitors has also widened. While TV CHOSUN's 'Miss Trot For You' saw its ratings slip from 3.9% to 3.3% over the last five weeks, and 'Gold Friday' slowed down from 4.3% to 3.3%, 'Legendary Men' has maintained unrivaled figures. This momentum is expected to continue ahead of the highly anticipated showdown between 'Legend of the Nameless 2' and 'Mr. Trot 4' scheduled for this winter.
Building a Variety Persona, Sungri Captures Both the Stage and the Laughs
Sungri showcased his variety skills on the fourth episode of MBN's 'Legendary Men,' titled 'Family Blue vs. White Battle,' appearing alongside his older brother. During the episode, Sungri engaged in a 'First Place Duel' with Iru-ne, delivering dad jokes and various performances. In particular, he presented a stage that incorporated Iru-ne's signature hip dance and red sock style. Having initially gained attention as an emotional vocalist during the audition, Sungri is now widening his connection with the public by leveraging this new persona.
His stage presence remained just as strong. In this broadcast, Sungri proved his vocal prowess with a performance of 'Bogumjari.' Following the contract for his Jeju home and a cruise fan meeting, he is continuing his momentum with a confirmed film role.
Sold-out National Tour Concerts... Following Goyang, the Tour Moves to Busan and Gwangju
His influence in the performance market is as intense as his viewership ratings. Unlike some trot performances that have struggled with schedule changes or cancellations, the 'Legend of the Nameless' national tour has proven its fandom by selling out. Sungri will meet fans at the Goyang performance of the '2026 Legend of the Nameless National Tour Concert' at the Goyang Aram Nuri Aram Theater on the 8th. This performance will be held twice on that day, at 1 PM and 6 PM.
Having started in Anyang last month and moved through Changwon, Seoul, Ulsan, Chuncheon, Daegu, and Suwon, the tour will visit major cities nationwide including Daejeon, Gwangju, Busan, Bucheon, Jeonju, and Cheongju following the Goyang show. Performances are scheduled for August 22 at the Gwangju Kimdaejung Convention Center and August 29 at the Busan BEXCO Exhibition Center 1.
