A venue for collaboration has been prepared to discover new public services by combining the public data held by the Korea Real Estate Board with private sector ideas. According to a Korea Real Estate Board video, the recently held '2026 Public-Private Data Blooming Day' explored the possibility of public and private data utilization through proposal presentations and networking by private companies.

Combining private ideas and public data... aimed at discovering new services

This event was planned with the purpose of planning new services by combining the data needed by the private sector with the data held by the Korea Real Estate Board. An event official stated the purpose of the event in the video, saying, "We started this to try and plan new public services by combining the data that the private sector definitely needs with various data held by our Board."

Private company officials participating in the event looked forward to growth opportunities through collaboration with public institutions. A representative of a participating company shared their motivation for participating, saying, "Since the Korea Real Estate Board possesses a lot of private data, we expect good results if we collaborate," and "We will be able to identify points where we can cooperate with public institutions to serve as a springboard for growth." In particular, a proptech startup official said, "From a startup's perspective, data is very important, and opening up these collaboration opportunities is a great help."

Confirming practical application possibilities... continuing follow-up discussions through networking

In the proposal presentation session, novel ideas from private companies were introduced, and the possibility of some ideas being reflected in actual public duties was also mentioned. An official in the video stated, "Among the proposal contents from a company called Sosoti, the data related to rental building management fees is something that can be reflected in our work, so we had a positive meeting," and "We plan to make it so that it can be reflected in our work through collaboration."

Through the networking day held after the presentations, practical exchange between the public and private sectors also took place. Beyond simple data provision, participants engaged in specific discussions for data distribution and value creation. One attendee reported the atmosphere on-site, saying, "We conducted practical follow-up discussions with the person in charge, and through the exchange, an opportunity arose to talk about the next steps." Additionally, there were evaluations that it served as an opportunity for companies, which had remained only as recipients of data, to be reborn as entities that can supply data.

The event concluded by suggesting that it is important for the process where public data does not merely stop at being opened, but meets the necessary private entities to increase its utility.
