The daily life of a family that left their life in Seoul behind and moved near Jirisan Mountain to live with two large dogs has been revealed. They are realizing the dream of rural life by changing their residential environment for their pet dogs and sharing roles with neighbors.

"Even had metal pins in my leg because of the dog"... An accident during a walk and recovery

The participant in the video confessed to an unexpected accident experienced during rural life with their pet dogs. They explained that during the early stages of moving in, while walking an active pet dog, the dog suddenly ran forward, causing the leash to wrap around their leg, which led to a fall on the concrete floor and a fracture. The participant stated, "The bone was completely broken, so I suffered for about two years," and revealed that they recently completed surgery in May to remove the metal pins inserted in their leg and are now almost fully recovered.

Immediately after the accident, there were concerned views from those around them regarding whether they could continue to raise the pet dogs, but the participant expressed unchanging affection for the dogs, saying, "I never once thought it was because of the dogs." This is interpreted as a determination to continue life with the pet dogs despite the unexpected accident.

A 'Pet Dog Community' formed with neighbors and the reality of rural life

Their rural life is not limited to the efforts of a single family but is maintained through bonds with nearby neighbors. The participant stated that they decided to move to realize the wish of their children, which was "raising pet dogs in a house with a yard," while living in Seoul. Currently, they have established a cooperative system similar to a form of communal childcare, where they share titles like 'Uncle', 'Aunt', and 'Uncle' with neighbors next door and behind them, and divide tasks such as walking and feeding the pet dogs.

In particular, they are dividing roles with neighbors to reduce the burden of raising the pet dogs, and the participant focuses their life on the dogs by taking full charge of their meals and walks. The participant expressed satisfaction with rural life, saying, "There is the hardship of not being able to leave the house because we have to be tied to the dogs, but it is much more fun than living in Seoul."

Continuous efforts toward a free environment

While their current residence provides an environment where the pet dogs can run around freely, there are constraints, such as having to maintain leashes because there are walking paths nearby so that the dogs do not suddenly run out. The participant mentioned that they are planning to move to the Namhae area, which has fences and gates and is adjacent to the sea, to find an environment where the pet dogs can live more freely without leashes.

Their life is focused on the welfare of the pet dogs, such as purchasing a used car to provide transportation for them and personally constructing kennels that fit the dogs' physical size. The participant emphasized the value of living with them, saying, "The pet dogs are the completion of our lives."
