YouTuber Kim Su-yong visited a tattoo shop in Hongdae to undergo a cover-up procedure to hide a scar remaining on his arm.
According to a video released by the YouTube channel 'Sixth Sense Kim Su-yong', Kim Su-yong revealed that he has recently become interested in tattoos. In particular, he visited Hongdae with an interest in 'scar cover-up tattoos' to hide the scar on his arm. Kim Su-yong also expressed interest in the changing environment, mentioning news that tattoos will be legalized starting from 2027.

A choice for scar cover-up, a cute 'Panda' design
The tattoo artist performing the work inspected the condition of the scar on Kim Su-yong's arm. It was explained that the scar was about 10 months old, and because the dermis of the skin had not been completely filled, it appeared somewhat transparent. The tattoo artist advised that to effectively hide a large scar, a cover-up method of filling the surrounding area with a colorful design is necessary. This method uses a design with many dark areas to make the large scar invisible.
During the process of deciding on a design, Kim Su-yong initially wanted a cute style. He expressed his opinion, saying, "I like cute things. Something like a panda would be cute." Among several designs prepared by the tattoo artist, Kim Su-yong showed interest in the panda design, and the scale of the design was decided considering the thickness and size of his arm. The tattoo artist suggested that the design could be larger to match the arm size, and Kim Su-yong decided to proceed with the largest size.
Conversation with an art major tattoo artist and the work process
When the procedure began, Kim Su-yong received the work in a lying position depending on the characteristics of the procedure table. During the process, Kim Su-yong relaxed by having various conversations with the tattoo artist. He also shared stories about entering art school and related majors with the tattoo artist, who majored in design. The tattoo artist was a design major with experience working at an art academy for a long time.
During the procedure, Kim Su-yong mentioned that "it hurts much more than I thought," but he soon continued the procedure in a comfortable posture. While the work was progressing, Kim Su-yong spent time eating snacks such as oatmeal cookies. After the procedure was completed, Kim Su-yong expressed satisfaction while checking the finished tattoo that covered the scar on his arm.
