Gwanaksan Hikers Play Rock-Paper-Scissors to Set Drinking Order
A Gwanaksan hike featured litter collection, candid conversations and a rock-paper-scissors contest to determine the order in which participants would drink water. The winner declared, “I’m going to drink all the water.”

A rock-paper-scissors contest to determine the drinking order brought a competitive moment to a Gwanaksan hike recently featured on the YouTube channel Binjari Isseoye. After securing the water, the winner celebrated by declaring, “I’m going to drink all the water.”
The outing began as an attempt to bring the fun of a Roblox hiking game into the real world. Along the way, the participants collected litter, spoke candidly about their future plans and negotiated the rules for their water break.
From Roblox to a volunteer hike on Gwanaksan
The participants described how absorbing they found the Roblox hiking game they had recently been enjoying. They wanted to recreate the sense of accomplishment they experienced on its exploration maps through an actual climb.
They also gave the outing a volunteer purpose by picking up litter during the hike. As they collected rubbish along the trail, they proposed a campaign against leaving fruit peels behind.

Conversation turned to future plans when one participant, who is from Incheon, described wanting to raise funds to buy a newly built villa and use it for Airbnb or rent it out as a filming space. The participant said the planned villa purchase was a step toward building the lump sum needed to enter the apartment market.
The same participant also promised to treat the group to a Jeju Island trip if the video reached one million views in a single day, adding energy to the outing.
Rock-paper-scissors sets the drinking order
After the hike passed its halfway point and the participants began running out of energy, they played rock-paper-scissors to decide the order in which they would drink water. The participant who had brought the water proposed the rules, heightening the tension.
An unusual requirement—that drinking had to continue without interruption—added uncertainty to the contest. The participant who ultimately secured the water announced that they would drink it all, while those who lost expressed disappointment and continued hiking.
The unexpected moments and easy conversation among the participants, against the scenery of Gwanaksan, conveyed the fun of the outing.
