The new JTBC drama 'Final Table' is raising expectations by showcasing the passion, competition, and life messages of chefs through the medium of cooking.

JTBC's upcoming drama Final Table, directed by Kim Do-hoon, will premiere on Saturday, October 24, at 10:40 PM. The series follows chefs navigating fierce competition and power dynamics, including a confrontation involving Pyeongyeon Group chairperson Moon Hye-seon.
A new drama exploring the passion and competition of individuals through cooking, along with the life messages contained within, is about to be unveiled. JTBC's new drama 'Final Table' is heightening viewer expectations by sharing vivid footage from the filming site.
Produced by SLL and directed by Kim Do-hoon, 'Final Table' appears set to go beyond a simple cooking drama to capture the various relationships and life advice faced by its characters. The footage includes on-set reactions stating, "You will likely see so many creative dishes that you might get confused as to whether this is a cooking variety show or a drama," hinting at a work rich in visual enjoyment.

Chefs seeking justification for competition, the start of 'The Table'
The work deals with the unavoidable keyword of "competition" in human society. The characters in the drama move fiercely from their respective positions, assigning plausible justifications to their competition. In particular, a scene starting with an emergency summons by Moon Hye-seon (played by Jang Young-nam), the chairperson of Pyeongyeon Group, foreshadows the tension of the drama. The story is expected to unfold as a character expressing confidence as a top chef refuses to participate, clashing with the will of someone trying to lead them into the competition.
Actress Jung Yu Jin, playing the role of Seon Jeong-won, explained the flow of the work, saying, "If the keyword of competition cannot be removed from human society anyway, let's instill a plausible justification into that competition." Including the first appearance of Moon Hye-seon and Seon Jeong-won, the relationships between characters—where subtle pressure and threats are exchanged from positions of power—are cited as elements that will add enjoyment to the drama.
Actors share stories of their characters and the filming site
The actors add depth to the work through the narratives of their respective characters. Hong Hwa-yeon, playing Choi Song-hee, shared that she filmed a scene where Song-hee feels heartache seeing her father upset. This is depicted as an important moment that serves as the character's driving force.
Bae Wan-hee, playing Kang Han, performed a first appearance scene that offers a glimpse into his philosophy on cooking. The creative cooking scenes were directed such that reactions from the set included, "It is like painting a picture." Zhang Lu appears as Cha Woo-jin, sharing chemistry with characters such as Chairperson Moon Hye-seon, raising expectations for the dramatic moments created as the characters become entangled.
Cha Ji-yeon hinted at the subtle relationships between characters through the role of Baek Hyun-joo. The video expressed anticipation regarding how characters, whose status as allies or enemies remains uncertain, will move within the flow of power. As such, the main flow of the work is expected to be how individuals with different purposes and stories will clash and harmonize within the space of 'Final Table.'
'Final Table' is scheduled to premiere on JTBC on Saturday, October 24, at 10:40 PM.
