Actress Oh Yoona shared the emotional comfort and family bonds she gains through life with her son, who has a developmental disability.
Appearing on TV CHOSUN's "Home-Style Meal Travels," Oh Yoona visited a restaurant to share sincere stories about her family alongside her meal. During her visit to a specialty restaurant for barley dried yellow corvina with a 40-year tradition, she naturally brought up the subject of her son while enjoying the food.

"Healing from my child's beautiful words"... unexpected comfort from her son
Oh Yoona confessed that her 16-year-old son suffers from a developmental disability (autism). She shared that he loves drawing cartoons and enjoys works such as the once-popular "Superboard." Oh Yoona expressed feeling relieved that her son has this interest in cartoons.
In particular, Oh Yoona emphasized that the comfort she receives from her son is greater than the hardships she has faced while raising him. "Even when I go home feeling tired and having had a difficult day, it gives me great strength when my child says, 'Mom, I love you,'" she said. "There are times when he says unexpected, beautiful words, so I am actually the one receiving healing and being moved." It was interpreted that her son's pure expressions of love serve as the driving force that allows her to forget the exhaustion of daily life.
Strong family bonds built through her mother's devotion
Oh Yoona revealed that she has not been raising the child alone, but has had the devoted help of her mother. She explained that while Oh Yoona was working, her mother cared for the child and meticulously managed his overall education, such as teaching him how to read and write. She added that thanks to this, her son's writing skills are quite good compared to typical children.
This family support has become a solid foundation that allows Oh Yoona to continue her life without wavering even in difficult situations. In the video, Oh Yoona showed an attitude of viewing her relationship with her son as partners who support each other, moving beyond a simple parent-child relationship.
Meanwhile, the broadcast also captured the food philosophy of a restaurant owner who has stayed in the same place for 40 years and the taste of barley dried yellow corvina grilled over charcoal. Oh Yoona continued her meal while thinking of her son who loves cartoons.
