Actor Kim Gi-jeong held a live stage to look back on his past to mark his 26th debut anniversary.

In the video released through his YouTube channel "Kim Gi-jeong's Established Fact," he recalled the trembling and emotional moments of his first debut stage held at the Seoul Arts Center on October 28, 2000. He shared his reflections that the joys and sorrows experienced while meeting audiences through various performances—from his start at the Seoul Arts Center to Ttangkkeut Village—became the foundation that shaped him into who he is today.

A song for those walking a steep path, 'Uphill'

During the live broadcast, Kim Gi-jeong sang "Uphill," a song by Yoon Jong Shin. The lyrics contain a determination to remember smiles before climbing a steep path and the process of moving forward one step at a time while breathing heavily. In particular, he conveyed the emotion of the song by delivering a message to keep looking at the person beside them by remembering the peaceful path rather than looking toward a distant end.

The song concluded with hopeful content, envisioning a beautiful path as much as one has climbed and suggesting that even if they lose hold of each other's hands, they will eventually meet again. Kim Gi-jeong continued the stage by delivering the meaning of the lyrics in accordance with the flow of the song. The lyrics reflect the will to walk the path with the person who chose him, even in situations where sticky sweat and heavy breathing might be the only conversation. Additionally, the lyrics incorporate the process of looking at the view when the wind blows while climbing a steep path to confirm that the path is as beautiful as the distance climbed.

A 26-year journey: "I will exist as a more truthful and deep actor"

Kim Gi-jeong expressed his gratitude to those who have empowered him to live as an actor over the past 26 years. He emphasized that the time spent meeting many audiences and performing makes this current moment even more precious and grateful. The joys and sorrows experienced throughout the journey from the Seoul Arts Center to Ttangkkeut Village became the driving force for him to cherish the present time even more.

He also mentioned his future steps. Concluding his reflections on the 26th anniversary, he expressed his gratitude to the many people who always provide him with the strength to live as actor Kim Gi-jeong, and conveyed his determination to exist on stage as a more truthful and deep actor in the future.
