While considering a visit to Lotte World for a weekend outing with his children, Kim Dong-hyun made a spontaneous decision to head to Jeju Island following the children's request to fly. Contrary to his usual nature of not moving without a plan, Kim packed his bags immediately after confirming low-cost flights and accommodations due to the off-season. While in a taxi, Kim booked the flight in real-time, noting the urgency of the situation by stating, "Normally, at this point, a J becomes a P (spontaneous type)."

At the time, Kim booked a 3:20 PM flight to Jeju from Gimpo International Airport. The airfare was confirmed to be in the range of 29,000 to 30,000 won per person, and the accommodation was decided to be near Shinhwa World on Jeju Island. Expressing excitement about the first flight with his children, Kim hurried toward the airport.

"There are no return flights": Unexpected inability to return home

Problems arose for Kim Dong-hyun immediately after boarding the flight to Jeju. While he successfully booked the ticket to Jeju, he found that no return flights could be confirmed. Kim searched for return tickets on-site but faced a situation where flights were already fully booked or unavailable. He could not hide his embarrassment, saying, "There are no return flights. I'm in big trouble."

Facing high airfares reaching hundreds of thousands of won per person and a lack of remaining seats, Kim confronted the practical issues caused by the unplanned trip. Kim admitted to the mistake caused by the lack of planning, stating, "Dad should have looked into it in advance, but I didn't look for the return flight."

Ultimately, unable to secure a return flight, Kim Dong-hyun could not avoid modifying his planned itinerary. Returning on the same day became impossible, and he eventually concluded the schedule by staying at a local hotel on Jeju Island with the children. Kim expressed regret, saying, "It would have been better if we hadn't gone to Lotte World in the first place."

Although the trip began with the "disaster" of missing return tickets, Kim Dong-hyun spent time with the children using the water park and kids' facilities within Shinhwa World. He concluded the journey by continuing to spend time with the children, holding their hands tightly in crowded areas and sharing snacks, despite the flow of the trip being entirely different from what was planned.
