Yoo Min-sang "Fish will never make you gain weight" burst out at an old restaurant in Daegu
We bring you the famous quotes from Yoo Min-sang as he tastes grilled fish at a long-standing restaurant in Daegu on Comedy TV's 'Nae-Man-Sang', along with Kim Min-kyung's gourmet tour of the South Coast.
"Fish Never Makes You Fat": Yoo Min-sang's Cheerful Mukbang Logic
Comedian Yoo Min-sang has become a hot topic after a single remark he made while tasting fish grilled on a cauldron lid at an old restaurant in Daegu. In the episode of Comedy TV's 'Am I a Big Eater?' (hereafter referred to as 'Am I a Big Eater?') aired on the 5th, Yoo Min-sang visited a grilled fish specialty restaurant in Daegu boasting a 25-year tradition.
The fish, grilled to a golden brown on the cauldron lid, featured a crispy exterior and moist flesh. After taking a large bite of the well-grilled fish paired with seaweed and rice, Yoo Min-sang left a witty remark: "Fish never makes you fat." He then tasted the hairtail stew, which featured a deep broth harmonizing with the tender texture of the hairtail.
Yoo Min-sang's mukbang continued to another famous eatery in Daegu. Visiting a noodle specialty restaurant ranked high on national delivery application rankings, he tasted Naenggomyeong-guksu, made with broth brewed from Tongyeong anchovies and noodles made from gardenia. Yoo Min-sang led the atmosphere with wordplay, saying "I'm quite the noodle expert" (a pun on 'hitting the noodles'), and even conquered Kal-guksu, which featured fresh noodles and sweet cabbage in a rich broth.
Kim Min-kyung Conquers South Coast Delicacies, from Mulhoe to Geoje Island Charcoal-Grilled Ribs
While Yoo Min-sang indulged in the flavors of Daegu, Kim Min-kyung traveled through Namhae, Tongyeong, and Geoje Island to introduce the delicacies of the South Coast. Visiting Namhae, Kim Min-kyung whetted her appetite with assorted Mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) filled with fresh seafood sourced every morning. The Mulhoe, with its sweet and sour seasoning and subtle fruit aroma, represented the quintessential summer delicacy.
The abalone porridge, boiled in a cast-iron cauldron, showed an outstanding harmony between large pieces of abalone and aged kimchi. Kim Min-kyung chose the abalone porridge as her 'One-Bite Pick,' the most impressive menu of the day.
In Tongyeong, a lavish spread of street food was laid out, led by iron plate tteokbokki, along with fish cakes, fried snacks, sundae, and mini kimbap. In particular, the fried dried filefish, fried sweet and savory using Samcheonpo dried filefish, caught the eye. The mini kimbap, consisting of 16 different varieties, allowed for enjoying various flavors all at once.
At the final destination of the journey, Geoje Island, charcoal-grilled ribs were waiting. Facing thick cuts of fresh pork neck, Kim Min-kyung expressed her anticipation, saying, "It feels like I'm grilling a steak." Her mukbang continued as she combined spicy mayo sauce, specially seasoned pork ribs, and steamed eggs.
Comedy TV's 'Am I a Big Eater?' airs every Sunday at 10:00 AM.
