"You'll die when the hourglass runs out" Kim Dae-myung, towards Lee Seol
In KBS2's 'The Completion of Marriage,' Kim Dae-myung threatened the kidnapped Lee Seol by using an hourglass to hold her life in the balance.
Noh Man-hee's Cruel Psychological Warfare Using an Hourglass to Decide Life and Death
The KBS 2TV weekend mini-series 'The Completion of Marriage' is heightening tension as its viewership ratings continue to rise. In the episode aired on the 11th, Noh Man-hee (played by Kim Dae-myung) was depicted continuing his threats by holding Go Se-yoon (played by Lee Seol) captive, using her life as collateral.
After confirming via CCTV that Go Se-yoon had woken up, Noh Man-hee approached her. While checking her injured neck and asking, "Are you okay?", he soon revealed his true colors. Noh Man-hee held out an hourglass in front of Go Se-yoon and warned, "Madam, this is the remaining time. When this runs out, you die." Watching the movement of the hourglass, Go Se-yoon felt terror, screaming and sobbing in despair.
As the terrified Go Se-yoon cowered, Noh Man-hee suddenly changed his attitude. "Are you okay? Oh, you startled me. This is something used for praying at the convent; you should try praying sometime when you're bored, Madam. Who knows? Maybe God will be moved and help you get out of here," he said, making bizarre remarks. It was a scene where a person threatening her life suddenly offered religious consolation. Following this, Noh Man-hee repeated unpredictable behaviors, such as handing Go Se-yoon a medicated patch and saying, "Apply this." Although Go Se-yoon tearfully asked, "Sir, why are you doing this to me?", Noh Man-hee ultimately refused to speak.
The Extreme Acting of Kim Dae-myung: From the Kind Neighbor to a Cruel Villain
In the drama, there is a vast gap between Noh Man-hee's usual appearance and the moments he commits crimes. In the second episode aired on the 5th, Noh Man-hee appeared as the person who kidnapped Go Se-yoon, the wife of Kang Tae-joo (played by Namgoong Min). After showing signs of excitement when Kang Tae-joo's mother-in-law offered 3 billion won, he immediately exploded in rage while choking the captive Go Se-yoon. He threatened Kang Tae-joo, saying, "Your wife is dying because President Kang didn't keep his promise to me," and then reported Kang Tae-joo's video to the police station.
In contrast to this, the everyday Noh Man-hee is a kind person to the neighborhood residents. He has the face of a warm-hearted neighbor, such as fixing a computer at an elderly woman's request or smiling brightly while waiting for food. This is a complete duality from his appearance as a kidnapper wearing a mask or monitoring Go Se-yoon's every move through a monitor.
Meanwhile, 'The Completion of Marriage' broke its own record in the second episode aired on the 5th, reaching a peak minute rating of 7.2% according to Nielsen Korea. Directed by Kim Jung-hyun and Kim Min-tae and written by Jung Jae-ha, the work is driving the rise in ratings through Kim Dae-myung's dual acting and the confrontational dynamic between Namgoong Min and Lee Seol.
"Even if you must die..." Noh Man-hee's Bizarre Lines
Facing the captive Go Se-yoon, Noh Man-hee uttered words that were chilling yet seemingly kind. While checking her injured neck and asking, "Are you okay?", he added to the resisting Go Se-yoon, "Even if you must die, you shouldn't be in pain while you are alive."
Pointing to the hourglass, he threatened her life, saying, "Madam, this is the remaining time. When this runs out, you die." He then continued his bizarre remarks, saying, "Are you okay? Oh, you startled me. This is something used for praying at the convent; you should try praying sometime when you're bored, Madam. Who knows? Maybe God will be moved and help you get out of here." Noh Man-hee also handed Go Se-yoon a medicated patch and told her, "Apply this."
