"Will I experience a yo-yo effect if I stop?"... Kang Min-ju hesitates before being prescribed obesity injections
Kang Min-ju, whose health indicators have deteriorated due to rapid weight gain, is torn between hope and concern regarding the prescription of obesity medication.

Kang Min-ju, whose health indicators have deteriorated due to rapid weight gain, has revealed her struggle between expectation and concern regarding the prescription of obesity treatment.
Weight increased by 10kg and collapsed health indicators
Kang Min-ju, who used to run a business in a traditional market, has gained about 10kg since staying at home after closing her business last July. Unlike in the past when she maintained a standard physique in the 50–60kg range, her current weight is 91.9kg, and her waist circumference has reached 42 inches. The weight gain, which began around menopause, has also affected her daily life. As her weight increased, knee joint pain set in, and she experiences shortness of breath even with slight movement. In particular, it was noted that a 10kg weight increase places a burden similar to carrying a 10kg bag of rice on one's body every day.

Her health status has also deteriorated. According to recent health examination results, she is in an urgent situation requiring health management, as she showed high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, and a risk of liver enzyme levels accompanied by fatty liver. Concerns are heightened by the fact that if obesity persists, the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and hyperlipidemia, may also increase.
Uncontrollable appetite and repeated regrets
The biggest factor blocking Kang Min-ju's diet is her appetite. Every time she visits the market, she is seen unable to resist the temptation of foods such as tteokbokki, sundae, and skewers, consuming them at a rapid pace. Regret and guilt always follow after meals, but once her appetite is unleashed, it does not subside easily. Additionally, as her intestinal health has worsened along with the weight gain, she complains of abdominal pain and bloating every time she consumes food. Kang Min-ju stated that whenever she eats anything, her stomach hurts mildly and feels bloated, and she experiences unpleasant, severe abdominal pain.
Expectations for obesity injection prescription and fear of side effects
To solve the difficulty of appetite control, Kang Min-ju visited a hospital and was prescribed an injectable obesity treatment. However, the reason she is hesitating and unable to use the medicine immediately is due to concerns about side effects. In the video, Kang Min-ju checks the warnings regarding adverse reactions to obesity injections and worries about the yo-yo effect that may occur if she stops using the medicine. Kang Min-ju expressed her concern, saying that if she stops taking the medicine, her appetite will explode, leading to a yo-yo effect where she gains even more weight than now.
The principle of the obesity injection treatment mentioned in the video is not to remove fat directly, but to utilize a hormonal effect that increases satiety and reduces cravings for food. From a nutritional standpoint, it is confirmed that the weight loss effect maintained while continuing the injection can result in a yo-yo effect where weight increases again the moment treatment stops. Therefore, it was suggested that it is important to set weight maintenance as the final goal rather than expecting mythical effects. It was emphasized that if the medicine is discontinued while control over daily meals and exercise is not certain, a yo-yo effect can occur quickly if appetite control or exercise is not properly managed along with the hormonal effect.
