"Why bath supplies?" A new trend encountered at Namdaemun Market
Kim Dae-ho mentioned whisky as his reason for visiting Namdaemun Market, but the market scene was different from his expectations. Upon hearing that foreigners visiting the area recently come to buy bath supplies, he toured various parts of the market to see the reality of these items. In particular, it was eye-catching that a culture of decorating bath bags according to personal taste, so-called 'Mok-gu' (decorating bath bags), has taken root among the younger generation.

Kim Dae-ho expressed admiration for the lively appearance of the market, saying, "Our country is also worth seeing like this." He enjoyed the unique atmosphere of the market while passing through Hairtail Alley and accessory shops. Through conversations with market merchants, he confirmed that bath supplies are being consumed as items that reveal personal taste beyond being simple daily necessities.
"Paying the money is the dopamine" A shopping journey captivated by wolf decorations
During the shopping process, Kim Dae-ho was fascinated by uniquely designed small items. Upon discovering decorations that looked like beverage bottles and a wolf-shaped item, he began negotiating, saying, "I've had my heart stolen by the wolf." The price, initially proposed at 70,000 won, was adjusted to 50,000 won on the condition of a cash payment, which Kim Dae-ho readily accepted. Immediately after purchasing the item, he expressed a feeling of stress relief, saying, "Shopping is the dopamine when you exactly pay the money."
Kim Dae-ho's obsession with "cute things" continued in the subsequent shopping. Upon discovering high-quality small items such as turtle-shaped magnet decorations, he purchased two additional turtle decorations, saying, "I don't usually buy things that aren't practical, but this is so cute." Ultimately, he showed his side as a "Namdaemun big spender" by spending 86,000 won, including a bath basket and decorative items.
From rayon material scrubbers to gift items
Beyond purchasing simple decorations, Kim Dae-ho also showed interest in practical items. The rayon material scrubbers and towels introduced by a market merchant offered a soft texture different from existing Italian towels. He experienced a product with a lymph massage function and reacted by saying, "It feels refreshing," and additionally selected towels with beautiful colors.
In particular, one of the purposes of this shopping trip was gifts for acquaintances. Kim Dae-ho packed the purchased bath baskets and accessories, saying, "I will properly decorate and bring gifts to give to my sisters-in-law for Chuseok." The merchant shared voices from the field that these bath supply sets are highly popular as gifts recently, with satisfaction levels so high that people who purchase them once return again.
