Comedian Kang Kyun-sung, known as a master of vocal impressions, revealed an unexpected reason why he had to maintain a bob hairstyle in the past.

Appearing on the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star', Kang Kyun-sung shared the background of why he stuck to the bob style in the past and his recent worries following the change in his hairstyle. Regarding the reason for his past bob, Kang Kyun-sung began by saying, "I had the thought that I wanted to grow my hair out at least once before I die." However, it wasn't simply due to personal preference. He shared the anecdote that he had no choice but to maintain the bob for one year due to the concept of the song he was promoting at the time, stating, "Looking at the stage, it felt like the song didn't look sad, so I told the director at the company that I would cut my hair."

"As soon as I cut it, it's not funny" The correlation between hairstyle and comedy

Kang Kyun-sung revealed his identity crisis following his recent haircut. Mentioning the gap between his appearance when doing impressions in the past and his current appearance, he made remarks to the effect that he is worried because he feels he doesn't evoke as much laughter as before after cutting his hair. In particular, recalling the days when he could evoke laughter just by making a motorcycle horn sound, he suggested that the visual elements provided by his hairstyle affect the formation of his character.

During the broadcast, Kang Kyun-sung also shared the results of his research into performing impressions of the cast member Kim Young-chul. To capture the characteristics of Kim Young-chul, he showed meticulousness by analyzing the shape of the eyes, the movement of the nose, and even the difference in voice according to oral structure. In particular, he revealed his side as a master of impressions by pointing out that Kim Young-chul's voice stems from a specific oral structure.

A change after 11 years and identity as an entertainer

Recalling the days when he made a name for himself through impressions on 'Radio Star', Kang Kyun-sung mentioned that the attention from that time is also influencing his current activities. During the conversation, it was revealed that after gaining attention with the bob style, maintaining that style also became a means of maintaining his character as an entertainer.

Meanwhile, when asked whether he could reproduce his old appearance even without wearing a wig, Kang Kyun-sung added fun to the scene by reacting that he is feeling a new change for the first time in 11 years.
