Vata, Engaged to In-gyu After Nearly 10 Years, Says He Expects to Cry and Smile at His Wedding
On MBC's Omniscient Interfering View, Vata spoke about his gratitude to his fiancée, his slow wedding preparations and how Ji Ye-eun's SNL invitation first brought the couple together.

Vata and In-gyu first met when Ji Ye-eun's appearance on SNL brought them together. Now, with a wedding ahead, Vata has said how grateful he is to the person who staked her life on him.
From an SNL invitation to a relationship of nearly 10 years
The two were invited to SNL, where Ji Ye-eun appeared, and that is where they met. Ji Ye-eun witnessed the fresh, budding mood between them at the time. She later watched them grow so close that they saw each other more often than they saw their own families, and she said she hoped they would meet healthy people and be happy.
The relationship between Vata and In-gyu appears to have lasted quite a long time. The length mentioned in their conversation came to nearly 10 years, suggesting that trust built over many years has now led to marriage.
A slower-than-usual wedding timeline
The couple are somewhat behind other couples in their preparations. Vata explained that while couples usually spend about a year preparing, they have not even taken wedding photos yet and are now rushing to get ready. With two to three years of preparation time still ahead, they are only now getting into a full schedule.
Some small episodes from the process were also shared. Among the unfamiliar feelings of being a groom-to-be was the awkwardness of hearing a vendor representative call him "groom" over the phone.
"I think I'll cry at the wedding too"
Vata spoke candidly about his feelings toward his fiancée. He said he feels great gratitude toward someone who trusted him and staked her life on him. He noted how remarkable the trust she has shown him is, and he took a serious tone as the wedding approaches.

He also spoke about the day itself. "I think I'll really cry at the wedding too," he said, expecting to be overcome with emotion, while adding that he wants "to smile brightly." His remark that he may end up laughing through tears carried a complex mix of feelings, laced with gratitude toward her.
The conversation was part of MBC's entertainment show Omniscient Interfering View, which showed Vata and In-gyu sharing how they are preparing for the wedding and how they feel about each other.
