FLARE U Reveal Wet Grass, Wobbly Bikes and a Lost Film Camera Behind "Bloom" Video
In a reaction video, the group FLARE U shared behind-the-scenes stories from the "Bloom" music video, from retakes on slippery grass to subway timing and a sunset shoot in Haebangchon.

The group FLARE U said the dance scenes on the grass for the "Bloom" music video had to be reshot several times because morning dew left the ground damp and slippery. The members also recalled waiting for the subway and timing their shots to the setting sun.
The video tells a story of members who lived on a mountain and meet after being in different times of day. An early scene in which they dance while looking at flowers in a dark place contrasts with the brighter mood of the later scenes. For one scene that had to catch a subway passing, the members had to start the song and perform the choreography to match the train's arrival time. They waited in the waiting room while the subway went by, then came back out to dance whenever the song played. They repeated this, and had to keep waiting when they missed a train or the timing was off, spending a long time to get the scene they wanted. The members said the various attempts in the video, including a first-person bicycle ride filmed with a member holding a phone, seemed well reflected in the result, and expressed satisfaction.
Wobbly bikes and a lost camera
The bicycle scene exposed differences in skill among the members. One member claimed to have been good at cycling in the past, but struggled on set and nearly fell for lack of balance. Even with another member holding the bike from behind, keeping it steady was hard, and the shoot was a struggle.
There was an unexpected mishap as well. The members had brought film cameras to capture the scenery, and one member said she had prepared two film cameras and two rolls of film, but lost them as soon as she got home after the shoot. Recalling that they had also lost items, such as a padded jacket, during a previous promotion, the members laughed that this was a bad-luck offering for the shoot.
Chasing the sunset, slipping on the grass
To raise the video's visual polish, the members took care over timing and location. The last scene is set in Haebangchon, and they shot it at the specific time when the sun sets. They hurried to catch the orange-tinged hour before the sun went down completely, and said the sky's colors were captured beautifully as a result.

On the grass, the members said, the uneven, slippery ground made the choreography hard to perform. One added that the shoot was hectic and that they wish they had danced a little better.
FLARE U shared the stories in a recently released reaction video, in which they watched the "Bloom" music video together. The video is the centerpiece of their mini album "Lovehood" promotions, and they said it was shot outdoors in hot weather.
