LIGHTSUM members express desire for more activities following long hiatuses
Members of the group LIGHTSUM shared their honest feelings regarding long periods of inactivity and their intense desire for more stage time during a recent gathering.
During a company dinner featured on the LIGHTSUM Again YouTube channel, members of LIGHTSUM shared the psychological hardships of long hiatuses, noting that despite debuting five years ago, they have only had one to two years of actual activity.
The members of the group LIGHTSUM candidly shared the difficulties they faced during their hiatuses and their earnest desire for more activities during a company dinner. In a video released through the YouTube channel LIGHTSUM Again, the members shared their thoughts while sharing food such as chicken and spicy sea snail noodles.
"Feeling like I'm just experiencing being an idol"... Scars left by long hiatuses
Although five years have passed since their debut, the fact that their actual period of activity has only been one to two years remains a great regret for the members. They mentioned facing long hiatuses without receiving sufficient "buffs" that can be enjoyed in the early stages of a debut. In particular, it was suggested that one cause for the extended hiatuses was the lengthy process of coordinating opinions due to the large number of members within their large-scale company.
The members revealed the psychological hardships they felt during their hiatuses without reservation. One member confessed, "Since I am an idol but the hiatus is so long, I felt as if I were just experiencing being an idol during that time." Her sincere remarks, noting that the times spent focusing solely on practice while traveling to other regions felt depressing, gave an indication of the patience they have shown.
"I wish I were so busy it's hard, to the point of being happy"
The members reported feeling different emotions now that activities have resumed. While they previously hesitated to meet friends due to economic reasons, they recently responded that they are "overwhelmingly happy" because they now lack time due to having too many schedules. This is interpreted as a sense of relief from confirming their presence as idols, moving beyond simply being busy.
The members' wishes for the company were clear. Along with the hope that "more stages would be introduced as idols," they expressed a desire to "be busy enough to not be able to sleep every day." Their wish for a schedule so busy it is difficult reveals the members' desperation for the stage.
Sharing daily life and ideal types at a chicken dinner
Beyond the heavy topics, the members shared small details of their daily lives during the dinner accompanied by chicken, soju, and zero cola. The conversation continued from the struggles of not being able to drink alcohol well to confessions that they no longer have an ideal type, and personal preferences such as favoring "someone who finds me cute" or "someone like a puppy."
An encouragement money event prepared by the chairman to boost the dinner atmosphere brought laughter to the members. The members strengthened their will for future activities, saying, "We want to work hard and increase profits a hundred or a thousand times," and concluded the pleasant time with a promise to meet again at a pork belly restaurant for their next dinner.
