RESCENE's Woni and MINAMI face beginner skiing challenges in Jeongseon

RESCENE members Woni and MINAMI traveled to the Jeongseon ski resort in Gangwon Province to experience skiing for the first time. After receiving basic training, the duo rode a gondola to the 1,340m summit to view the snowy scenery of Baekjodae.

Amidst a winter filled with white snowflakes, RESCENE members Woni and MINAMI traveled to Jeongseon, Gangwon Province. As reported by KBS WORLD Latino, this trip captured the process of fully enjoying winter in Jeongseon, from beginner skiing lessons to riding a gondola to admire snowy scenery and resting at a cafe at the summit.

"Skiing is all about momentum": Beginners' clumsy slope challenges

Upon arriving at the Jeongseon ski resort, the two visited a rental shop before beginning their actual skiing. During the process of choosing ski suits, MINAMI expressed her excitement by suggesting they pick bright colors to ensure they look good in photos on the snow. Having completed their preparations, the two began their challenge by receiving basic training from an instructor since it was their first time skiing.

After learning the "A-shape" position—a method for controlling speed and stopping—from the instructor, the two headed onto the slope with confidence. However, the reality was not easy. Woni lost her balance and fell while descending the slope, and MINAMI also fell shortly after, showing the clumsy side of beginners. Although Woni confessed that it "was scary," she showed her passion for skiing by gathering courage to descend the slope again. In particular, Woni succeeded in descending the slope to the end and expressed her satisfaction, stating, "I plan to come here every year starting next year."

After enjoying skiing, the two took a gondola to the summit at an altitude of 1,340m. The white world of snow unfolding outside the window during the gondola ride was "healing" itself for the two. MINAMI described the scenery of Baekjodae unfolding before them as "like a painting," noting that it felt as if she were passing through the clouds.

Upon reaching the summit, the two encountered courses that were difficult for beginners to descend due to steep slopes, but instead moved to a cafe where they could admire the wide-open snowy scenery. There, they took in the panoramic view of the ski resort while looking at the scenery from the summit.

Replenishing sugar on the snow with Dorong-ibbang and drinks

At the summit cafe, the two rested while enjoying the signature Dorong-ibbang bread and drinks. Tasting the Dorong-ibbang, which has a crispy exterior and moist interior, along with a drink characterized by a rich chocolate flavor, the two enjoyed the taste paired with the scenery before them. MINAMI continued the friendly atmosphere by mentioning that this is "a good place for lovers to confess."

This trip to Jeongseon, which combined falling on the snow, exciting scenery, and delicious food, left a special winter memory for the two. Their winter story is expected to continue with the next journey.
