Former RaNia member Darae returns as protagonist and vocalist in new film

Danal Entertainment has released the OST "Before Autumn Comes (Feat. Minerva's Owl)," sung by Darae, for a short film inspired by the former RaNia member's musical career. The film follows a protagonist facing repeated audition failures before finding the courage to pursue music again.

Darae, who previously performed as 'Di' of the girl group RaNia, is returning as both the protagonist and the vocalist of a short film. Danal Entertainment has released the OST "Before Autumn Comes (Feat. Minerva's Owl)" for the short film "Before Autumn Comes," which features vocals by Darae.

Cinematic imagination reflecting real musical career

The short film "Before Autumn Comes," which serves as the basis for this project, uses Darae's actual career as a singer as its motif. The film depicts the story of a protagonist who continues to pursue dreams even after girl group activities, but experiences frustration due to repeated failures in auditions. A turning point occurs when the protagonist, exhausted by the fatigue of failure, has a conversation with a dentist during a chance visit, leading them to face their forgotten dreams and prepare for a new start through music.

The film carries a narrative that even if some people remember you and others forget, the steps toward a dream continue. The story of the protagonist's repeated failures and the new beginning encountered in that process was completed by adding cinematic imagination to Darae's actual experiences.

OST sung by the protagonist adds authenticity

The film's title track, "Before Autumn Comes (Feat. Minerva's Owl)," strengthens the work's message as it is sung by Darae, who plays the lead role. The song contains courage and hope to rise again amidst frustration and anxiety. The authenticity of the track is emphasized by the fact that Darae, who once stood on stage as a member of a girl group, borrows the emotions of the film's character to sing again with her own voice.
