Spotify Korea releases shuffled live version of NMIXX's Birthday Wish

Spotify Korea has released a "Shuffle Live" video for NMIXX's "Birthday Wish" as part of its K-Pop ON! content, featuring a performance where all song parts are swapped to create a new rhythmic experience.

The song "Birthday Wish" by the group NMIXX has been reinterpreted in a new form that differs from its original composition. Spotify Korea showcased a different side of the track through a "Shuffle Live" video, which randomly mixes the parts of NMIXX's "Birthday Wish."

"Shuffle Live" configuration with all parts swapped

Released as part of Spotify's "K-Pop ON!" content, this video adopts a "Shuffle" format where every part of the song is swapped. Rather than following the original flow of the song, it emphasizes the unexpected nature of the performance by changing the owners of each part. Based on the lyrics and melody of "Birthday Wish," the members of NMIXX continued their performance within this new flow of rearranged parts.

In the video, lyrics such as "Everything looks new, that moment that has come closer before my eyes" appear alongside phrases like "You pull me with a strange rush" and "I'm already in love." Messages of making a wish, such as "Make a wish with your eyes closed," and festive lyrics leading into "Celebrate it, celebrate it" unfold in a new sequence due to the part rearrangement. While maintaining the core messages of "wish" and "festival" found in the song, the changed sense of rhythm resulting from the shuffled parts provides a fresh revitalization of the song's atmosphere.

In the early part of the video, the phrase "Here lies a broken heart, rebooting into a new chapter" appears, followed by parts that unfold in a manner different from the original song's narrative. Including sections with lyrics such as "I lost my way a thousand times to find you," the reconstructed parts interlock to demonstrate the musical elements of the song from various angles.

Expanding content through Spotify's "K-Pop ON!" platform

This content was produced as part of the "K-Pop ON!" playlist and K-Pop ON! Video Podcast available exclusively on Spotify. Rather than simply showing a completed stage, the production is seen as an attempt to provide fans with a new auditory experience through a configuration where all parts of the song are swapped.

Through this Shuffle Live, NMIXX showcased variations of the musical elements within "Birthday Wish," resulting in a suggestion for K-pop fans using the Spotify platform to enjoy the song in another way.
