The band OYSTERS performed their "First Election of the Cucumber Republic" solo concert on October 18, where members acted as candidates presenting campaign pledges. During the event, Yoo Tae-young pledged to get married on May 19, 2030, to celebrate his 700th day with his girlfriend.

The band OYSTERS brought a unique "election" worldview to the stage. The OYSTERS solo concert, 'First Election of the Cucumber Republic,' held on October 18 at the KT&G Sangsangmadang Hongdae Live Hall, featured an unconventional format where members acted as candidates to present campaign pledges to the audience, who served as voters.

"Audience satisfaction is the priority"... Diverse pledges presented by members

Under the setting of the 'First Election of the Cucumber Republic,' the performance was structured with members stepping forward in turn as candidates to campaign. Candidate No. 1, Jeong Geum, addressed the practical aspects of band management, noting, "While everyone has different rhythms, schedules, and musical tastes, someone must set the ensemble time and coordinate the schedule." He further emphasized that the band's growth is thanks to the audience, stating, "I will implement pledges that prioritize audience satisfaction."

Candidate No. 2, Jeong Gyeol, lightened the atmosphere with a candid remark asking for "sympathy votes," referencing unexpected situations such as stage equipment malfunctions that occurred during a previous performance. Candidate No. 3, Yoo Tae-young, drew attention by proposing a method to determine decision-making authority in the event of disagreements within the band, while also making a bold pledge mixed with a personal story. Mentioning his 700th day with his girlfriend, Yoo Tae-young drew laughter from the crowd by pledging, "If elected, I will get married on May 19, 2030."

'Cucumber Republic' stage combining music and worldview

The performance went beyond simple pledge announcements, integrating the band's unique musical color. As the members' campaigning continued, songs including 'Oyster' were performed, with the flow of the music and stage production maintaining the "election" concept to interact with the audience. In particular, songs that permeated the theme of the 'First Election of the Cucumber Republic' followed, embodying the worldview built by the band on stage.

This concert was produced with the support of 'Band Discovery,' a 2026 KT&G Sangsangmadang Hongdae music support project. Through this solo concert, OYSTERS communicated with the audience by expressing the relationships between band members and their musical directions within the playful framework of an "election."
