Koo Hye-sun Files Defamation Complaint Against YouTuber Lee Jin-ho Over Allegations

Actress Koo Hye-sun has initiated legal action against a YouTuber who raised allegations regarding inappropriate physical contact involving her ex-husband, Ahn Jae-hyun. Koo's legal representative stated that they have filed a defamation complaint against YouTuber Lee Jin-ho, claiming that the content posted on the YouTube channel 'Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho' is untrue.

In the controversial video, Lee Jin-ho claimed that a written statement exists alleging Ahn Jae-hyun engaged in close physical contact with another woman, but further asserted that upon checking with the actress (referred to as 'A') who allegedly wrote the statement, she denied writing it. He also raised suspicions based on the argument that the statement's format differs from actual legal document standards.

Koo Hye-sun: "I Possess the Original Statement... Speaking Out to Prevent Harm to My Friend"

Contrary to the YouTuber's claims, Koo Hye-sun emphasized the authenticity of the statement. Her side countered, stating, "I personally possess the original statement written on April 28, 2020," and argued that the screenshots released by the YouTuber match the content of the original in her possession. In particular, she explained that while the YouTuber is misleading the public by questioning the format of the statement to suggest the author is not who they claim to be, the document was indeed written with the confirmation and consent of the named individual (Actress B).

On the 7th, Koo Hye-sun explained her reasons for speaking out via her Instagram. She stated, "I do not want my friend to suffer simply because they are my friend, and I have a duty to protect them." She added, "I hope my friend does not face any disadvantages because of me, and I am truly grateful," noting that while she did not want to bring this matter to light, she made the decision to prevent her friend from being harmed.

Confession of Feelings Regarding Past Divorce and a Message of Forgiveness

Koo Hye-sun also touched upon the process of her past divorce from Ahn Jae-hyun. She stated, "Because I entered the marriage with conservative ethical values, I felt a sense of betrayal due to personal matters last year, which prevented me from making rational judgments and being understanding toward the other party." Regarding her feelings at that time, she expressed, "Looking back now, acting emotionally is even more shameful," adding that she did not wish to bring up this matter again.

She continued by adding that she is accepting everything positively. Koo said, "I have already forgiven everything, and I believe everything that happened was for my growth as a human being." Regarding her ex-husband Ahn Jae-hyun, she added, "I ask that you please encourage him as he starts new endeavors, and please support him, as the mistakes of the past are already behind us."

Legal Battle Proceeding Amid Conflicting Claims

Currently, the case is at a direct standoff between YouTuber Lee Jin-ho's claims regarding the "authenticity of the statement and the results of verifying the author" and Koo Hye-sun's claims regarding "possession of the original and the consent of the named individual." While the YouTuber's side is basing its argument on formal flaws in the document and the denial by the named individual, Koo's side is proceeding with the defamation lawsuit based on the substance of the document and the intent of the named individual.
