The band ONEWE shared behind-the-scenes stories regarding the stage composition, song arrangements, and protruding stage production for their recent concert.

"'ICARUS' intro completed in one day... arrangements focused on connecting songs"

The members of ONEWE revealed that they put a lot of effort into composing the connection sections between the songs performed at the concert, so-called 'gudadari'. In particular, for 'ICARUS', they explained that they were able to finish the arrangement in just one day because the direction of the arrangement they had envisioned in their heads before the performance was firm.

According to the members' explanation, for the 'ICARUS' intro, they placed a sound like a bell, which is one of the existing instrumental (Inst.) stems, to induce the audience's concentration. They took a composition that builds up piano, bass, and string sounds in sequence. The string arrangement was completed by requesting a producer (PD). Afterwards, they sought to maximize the emotion of the song through a composition where the guitar follows the lines of the 'Kado Reke Doate' part exactly. The member also mentioned the emotions of the moment when they did not use a microphone in that part and sang along while looking at the audience.

They also emphasized the connectivity of the sections leading into 'Laputa', 'Alice', and 'Shoot It Out'. The member stated that by utilizing the fact that the keys of each song match, they consulted with the PD to proceed with the intro arrangement so that the riff of 'Alice' would naturally follow after 'Laputa' ends. They added that for 'Shoot It Out', a natural connection was possible as it matched the ending chord and the drop part of 'Alice'. In addition, in the case of the 'Coordinates' stage, they said they came to realize the charm of the song again as they felt the weight that can be felt in a large concert hall, unlike during ensemble rehearsals.

"Operating effector on the protruding stage with the manager's help... 'Thanks to Gomdols Hyung'"

In this concert, the production that actively utilized the protruding stage was notable. Especially in the 'Clear Sky' stage, HARIN, who is in charge of drums, presented a new composition appearing from the bottom of the protruding stage. The member recalled that the appearance of HARIN coming up while playing the drums was a composition tried for the first time, and that it was enjoyable to perform on the same line as the members. Unlike previous performances, this performance included the production of HARIN coming up to the protruding stage while playing the drums.

However, there were also concerns about technical problems that could occur during the performance on the protruding stage. The member confessed that there were physical limitations making it difficult to directly operate the guitar effector when going out to the protruding stage. This was because moving the effector carried a risk of acoustic accidents and was realistically impossible. To solve this, the member requested the manager (Gomdols) to operate the effector. It was reported that after repeated practice since the ensemble rehearsals, the manager stepped on the effector at the perfect timing without a single mistake during the actual performance. The member stated, "The manager hyung was the hidden key contributor of this concert," and revealed that they proceeded with the stage based on trust, communicating in advance so that they could play accordingly even if the manager changed it to a clean tone.

The song considered the highlight of the concert was 'It's a Beautiful Day'. The member mentioned that since the main riff of the song is composed of a synth line, they were able to jump around freely while playing the guitar backing. He picked it as his favorite song of this concert, saying, "It is 5 times, no, 10 times more exciting than the digital track." He explained that unlike 'Mimi', 'Color of Memory', or 'Takso', 'It's a Beautiful Day' was more exciting because they could jump around with less concern about playing the lines.

In particular, he described the feeling of playing the G minor chord when the stage effects exploded at the beginning of 'It's a Beautiful Day' as "newly felt dopamine." He recalled the intense energy felt during the performance, sharing the joy of choosing this song as the final encore song on Sunday.
