Aegryeong Enters the Joseon Battlefield, Devoting Herself to Horseback Riding and Action Training

Actress Go Youn-jung is set to build new characters as she moves between the big screen and OTT platforms. She has confirmed her appearance in the film 'Nambeol,' the directorial debut of Director Lee Mo-gae, produced by Hive Media Corp. Set in the early Joseon Dynasty, this film is a hard-boiled martial arts action piece about nine warriors with different abilities and social classes who head to Tsushima Island to rescue captives kidnapped by Japanese pirates.

In 'Nambeol,' Go Youn-jung plays 'Aegryeong,' a character who loses her family to a Japanese pirate raid and throws herself into the battlefield to rescue her younger sibling held captive on Tsushima Island. She is a desperate character who must achieve her goal while carrying the pain of loss. Her agency, AAP, stated that Go Youn-jung is accelerating her preparations by simultaneously undergoing action and horseback riding training to realistically embody Aegryeong's movements.

As she must demonstrate the survival instincts of the Joseon-era battlefield, Go Youn-jung plans to delicately portray the process of the character's desperation translating into physical movement. This will be a stage to prove her side as a raw and strong martial arts action actress, different from the image she has shown in her previous works.

'Moving Season 2' Jang Hee-soo, a Deeper Growth Narrative

Alongside her cinematic challenges, news has also arrived regarding her appearance in the Disney+ original series 'Moving Season 2.' Go Youn-jung, who appeared as the high school student with superpowers Jang Hee-soo in Season 1, will expand the character's narrative through Season 2. The story follows the superpowered individuals who, having returned to daily life after the Jeongwon High School incident, once again head to the battlefield to protect their loved ones against new crises.

Jang Hee-soo is a character who possesses both warmth and strength. Go Youn-jung will unravel the inner self of the character, who has grown through constant choices while protecting family and friends, using her signature calm and restrained emotional acting. Just as she conveyed Jang Hee-soo's wounds and resilience through only her eyes and breathing in Season 1, she will show the character's transformation amidst crisis in Season 2.

Written by Kang Full and directed by Kim Seong-hun and Kwon Hee-cheol, 'Moving Season 2' showcases the essence of human action. Go Youn-jung continues her preparations to realistically implement Jang Hee-soo's movements and action, leading the character's emotional lines at the center of the expanded universe.

Go Youn-jung's trajectory is an extension of a filmography that has constantly attempted variations without settling for a specific image.
