Rescene claims two awards, Illit releases new album
Rescene claimed two awards with "Pretty Girl," while Illit unveiled their second Japanese single, "I Got Your Back."
Group Rescene has claimed two music show victories with their remake single 'Pretty Girl.' After topping the charts on SBS' 'The Show' on the 25th, the group secured a second win on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 26th, achieving first place without a live performance. Their agency, The Muse Entertainment, said, "This is a precious result made together with everyone who believed in and supported us. We will continue to stay true to our初心 and repay fans with great performances."
Continued chart success
'Pretty Girl' maintains strong chart positions, ranking first on Melon's 'HOT100' and fourth on 'TOP100,' topping Bugs' real-time chart, sixth on FLO, and sixth on KT Genie Music's 'TOP 200' real-time chart. Rescene previously achieved top rankings on major music charts with their remake single 'LOVE ATTACK,' which holds the top spot on Melon's 'TOP100' and daily chart, and leads Buggs' real-time and daily charts, FLO's chart, and KT Genie Music's 'TOP 200' real-time and daily charts.
Illit releases second Japanese single
Group Illit released their second Japanese single, 'I Got Your Back,' at 8 p.m. on the 26th. This marks their second single since officially debuting in Japan last year. The title track, 'I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA),' is a rock genre song featuring stylish guitar riffs and dynamic drum and bass sounds. With its repetitive hook and energetic vocals, the song delivers a message of encouragement: "You're not alone." The two members also wrote the rap lyrics themselves.
Illit performs in Japan and expands global presence
On the same day as the music release, Illit delivered a live performance of the title track as the finale at 'ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥' in JAPAN' at Tokyo's Toyota Arena on the 26th, amplifying local excitement. They will further expand their global presence in August by performing at Japan's major music festivals, 'Mezamashi Wangan Festival' and 'Lucky Festival 2026.' The new song will also serve as the opening track for the Japanese OTT platform ABEMA's original drama 'The Rules of Vacation,' set to release on the 27th. The single includes 'Sunday Morning,' the opening song for the TV anime 'Princess "Torture" Time' Season 2, released in January. The Korean version of the title track will be available exclusively on the physical album, set for release on the 29th.
Collaboration and synergy
The title track features Japanese rookie girl group HANA's JISOO and MOMOKA as featured artists and contributors to the rap lyrics. In the music video teaser, Illit transforms into magical girls, struggling to rescue Wonhee who has been captured by a monster. HANA's JISOO and MOMOKA appear in the video, lending their strength. This collaboration represents a new generation of girl groups from Korea and Japan combining their voices to create a unified work.
